I have worked as a private caregiver for the last twenty years. I worked in the airline industry for about 10 years as a customer service agent, was laid off and was offered a job as a caregiver in Dixon, CA taking care of a couple for 8 years until they passed on to be with the Lord. I initially became a caregiver so I could help patients be happy in a facility that they might not be comfortable in . I love helping others as well as making sure they are fed , cleaned , bathed & also making sure they are safe . Making residents feel at home as much as possible. Helping residents get dressed in the mornings , make there beds and clean there room if needed for the day . Making sure they have everything they need and checking on them throughout the day .

I'd say what makes me a good caregiver is my compassion for others & Positive demeanor. What sets me out from most would definitely be dedication & patience. When your doing something you love to do it really makes work not feel like a job & that's why I'm a caregiver. Giving someone the help they need is something we all deserve.
