I would not say I am great but I strive to be. Being a great caregiver requires a great amount of time and energy and patience which are all my strong suits. Caregiver comes naturally for as I was growing up, took care of a lot of my elders. As I got older I begin to love it, helping someone else gave me a piece of mind. Especially as I got older you see all these bad people who have the opportunity to help and change a life and they take advantage. So what make me a great caregiver is my action, I take the time to actually listen and work with my client to make them fee as comfortable as possible. I wanted to become caregiver to help. It saddens me how our young peers treat our elders. I just want to change that. I want to show people there are actually people you can trust with your loved ones. Also my own personal experience made me want to become a caregiver. My grandfather had operation on his foot, it was due to his diabetes. I couldn't bare watching my grandfather just sit there lifeless so I took upon to help with exercise, bathing (even he didn't like his granddaughter having to do so much), helped him eat took him for walks because he was not able to walk, watched the games with him I mean you name it I probably did it. My personal achievement is helping others. Just recently I was my mothers caregiver, she has diabetes and had surgery on her knee, so just to be there and help someone and letting them know they are not alone is my personal achievement at the moment.
