Hello, My name is Octavia Mcleod I'm 34 yrs of age and I'm blessed to have three beautiful children. One of kids which is 12, he really is my nephew but I raised him as my son since birth. He is the reason I'm currently in the care giving field. He has hit my a motor vehicle and required years of nursing, therapy, 24 hour around the clock care due to severe traumatic brain injuries he was left with. He was only 4 at the time so this has not only became a job to me it became a passion to me to care for not only him but others as well. I had in house RNs in my house for 5 years until I requested to care for him myself. Being a caregiver provides families with extra support for their live ones especially when families have jobs and families of their own and don't have the extra time to care for a love one that really needs that extra care and love. Being a caregiver allows me to give, love, support, help, and comfort and for that I feel accomplished every day when I come home to my family, knowing I have do those things for someone whom may not have that.

I am 28 years old, I have been a caregiver over 22 years. I was my parents caregiver before they passed away, I enjoy being a caregiver because I love caring for others, I love being their support, I love helping them realize that they can do the impossible, and I love trying to fill an empty void some families have because they don't have that family member there to help them. I enjoy helping, making memories with my clients, and helping strengthen them in what they feel they are weak in. Caregivers maybe the backbone in helping the clients, but honestly when I see that the clients have achieve or I have helped them it gives me strength that I have been looking for.

I think who really Give me the strength to get into Nursing was my Great Aunt she was a Rn(Only Nurse in my Family)) And my Favorite... My Personal Achievement is Being a Mom of 3 Wonderful Boys who understand life... To be a caregiver you have to be understanding to what your client is going through this is a very hard time for them..

I've been a caregiver for about seven years dealing with many different cultures. What I love so much about being a caregiver is helping people that can't or no longer help themselves. While being a caregiver I've learned that every clue has different needs which I'm comfortable with. Also I've private sat with an ALS patient caring for her day and night that required lots so it's basically nothing I can't do.

Very determined and motivated. I love to laugh and talk, draw, dance, and I love caring for others. My mom is whom attracted me to becoming a caregiver. She talked like it was the greatest thing in the world, and she was right!
