I have worked in the healthcare most of my life. I became a DSP around 2003-2004 I loved it so much that I went and got my CNA license nursing homes for a few years. But then decided to take time off to take care of my children. Not realizing that I let my CNA license expire. So I went back to the thing that I love my DSP job at Glenbrook in Vienna , where I knew and loved everyone there. But I decided to dip my hand into the cooking career got my certifications and have been doing that ever since. I am energetic and hard-working. I put my everything into what I do and their isn't anything that I can't accomplish when I put my mind to it . Cook DSP, CNA , mother , bestfriend, daughter I've pretty much live the life of a caregiver this is my life and I love every min I will continue to do for as long as I can. My name is Alexis Vojvodich. I go by "Lexi". I took a job at Addus home care is what stole my heart and let me know that helping the elderly live a well life was my passion. I worked there for a year and i workd at Reflections Memory Care at the same time. I loved my clients/residents so much. I absolutely love getting to grow close and share my life with clients and I love that I get to help them live. Most elderly raised a family their selves, being a caregiver I feel like it is what they deserve, which is getting taken care of, just like they did their families. The achievement i am most proud of is getting the experience of helping with Addus and Reflections so that I will be able to care for the people that raised me to the best of my ability. The money isn't what draws me to this job, it is getting to show people that they are loved and getting to help.

I feel I am a great care giver because I love to help people and build relationships with them to know how to handle situations and know what they like so I can help them to the best of my advantage.

I have been a caregiver off and on for 20 years. I first got into the field as a DSP when my oldest child was born with autism so I could learn how to help him be as independent as possible. When he went to school I got my CNA and worked in nursing homes until I married and had my other children at which time I became a stay at home mom. . After my other 3 children were in school I went back to work as a Home Health Aide and DSP. My favorite part of being a caregiver is seeing the person I'm working with gain or retain skills that would be otherwise be lost or unknown.

I am very compassionate and attentive to the needs of the elderly. I am extremely dependable and highly motivated in providing patient care. I am very loving and love to listen when they are talking to me. I have been in the medical field most of my working career, however I worked in Pathology and not as a caregiving. I am very knowledgeable about what happens when we age which I believe helps me understand what a person experience during the aging process. Listening to people tell you about who they are and what they have done over their life time. I had the opportunity to take care of an elderly gentleman during his last days and making his last days as enjoyable and pleasant and possible. I think of him and miss him everyday. He died two months before his 100th birthday. He was an amazing man. I believe that I not only comforted and touched his life but he touched mine. May he rest in peace.

I am a college graduate. I graduated in May of 2022 with a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education and elementary education. I am married and have 2 special needs boys. I like to crochet and read.
