I am currently a stay at home mom to High school students with Special Needs. I am looking forward to spending time with clients of all ages and stages of life! I have a Nursing license that is inactive- but it is this nursing degree/passion for people that has given me the desire to care take and love on others- deeply. I am half glass full type person who loves to help others in their journey through life! I love to sit and chat and play games/take walks in the fresh air and enjoy getting to know others etc. as we all journey together through this walk we call life! Hey I'm sharmain family call me Tootie. I'm 34 years old. I've been in the CNA field since 2008. Soon as I graduated high school I got my Medical Assistant Diploma and been in the field since. I've stepped a way to find other careers I like as I'm doing hair cooking and working with electronics. I'm not much of a talker but when I do I can make a full room laugh I love to be goofy I do have 3 boys witch my oldest two days ago walked into adult hood. I love sports and love to cook and do art work.

My name is Mercury, I took care of my parents when I was 16, for 10 year , they were both stroked, that experience helped me become a great caregiver. I have been taking care of seniors since 2012, started with 1 quadraplegic, 3 dementia, 1 amputated, and companionship, Assistance. And so on. I used to be a flight attendant so I know how to react when it comes to an emergency, I am a Christian and I go to church 2 times a week. I am a single mother and I like helping. I wished to be a nurse when I was very young. Higher education was not my cup of tea. I love my mother and father 93 and almost 99 respectively. I cook great, healthy meals and enjoy seeing my family consume them happily. Taking them to appointments and cleaning are necessary events that benefit everyone. I was an instructor for the Medicare project for over a decade and touched many lives in a positive way.

The first time I began to consider the nursing field as a future career choice was in 2004. I was 8 years old when I swam with my aunt Rose in their private pool and she had a seizure. I was able to recall basic knowledge about seizures taught from my two aunts who were nurses. I set a spoon inside of a towel and placed it in her mouth. I then yelled to her son, my cousin, "Call 911!" At that moment I was performing a cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It was the longest five minutes I have dealt with; it felt like an eternity. From that day onward, I wanted to make a difference by helping people to the best of my abilities. I am thankful that my other two aunts were nurses, and that they had taught me some basic medical knowledge which I was able to use to save my Aunt's life. I was born and raised in the Philippines and had moved to the United States on October 4th, 2009 to be with my mother and grandmother. Growing up, my family members would always describe me as a person that tries their best in everything they do, whether it is school, family, or my job. No matter how hard the obstacles are, I aim for success. I supported myself financially after high school with daily needs and college school expenses by working full time and signing up for extra shifts. In March 2014 to March 3, 2016, I worked 16 hour shifts, 2 days in a row every weekend at Garden Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. When I did not have classes in the morning, on the weekdays I would work 8 hour shifts in the afternoon or night and vice versa if I had school in the afternoon. In doing so, I was able to pay for my car, insurance, necessities, school, and help my grandmother. I love helping other help other individuals medically, emotionally, and spiritually by providing the best patient care with all of my heart.

What's makes a great Caregiver is someone that has compassion for what they do. That comes with being honest, genuine, patient, and loving. I believe I am all those and more. I always try to connect with people, make memories and become a part of their life. I love to read, write, and I absolutely love puzzles. I have been a certified nursing assistant for a year now, with that CNA license I also carry a certified medication aides license giving me the ability to administer medication as well. I am going to school at JCCC and I do work as well. Mostly during the day. I've had multiple different kinds of experience with allot of people. I have had experience with residents that have had a g-tube, I have personal experience when it comes to that. I also have experience with trachea, a colostomy, someone being paralyzed, and also residents that have Dementia. I love my job and what I do. Being able to make memories with those that I see everyday makes my heart glow. The achievement that I am most proud of is escaping a harsh environment with my child by my side. And finding a passion I long for which is making others smile. Doing the best I can as a mother, a caregiver. And a friend.
