I am patient, can listen and adapt to different personalities. I enjoy understanding how a patient feels and putting myself in their place. I wanted to be a caretaker to help as many people as I can. I love meeting new people and helping out wherever I can. I enjoy being a companion to a patient and helping out any way I can. A personal achievement I am proud of is when my patient was angry at me for 2 months because she has Alzheimer's and thought I had locked her out, I apologized many times everyday until she realized she had been angry for no reason and apologized. I was very happy for not becoming angry even when she was yelling and apologizing many times although I hadn't done anything wrong. My ability to understand where she was mentally helped me to grow and care even more about her.

I am a good listener and will double check to make sure that what is asked of me to do is correct.My past and present clients are and have given me great recommendations for my caring attitude. As a small girl, I always wanted to help the elderly and anyone less fortunate than me.I was raised by 2 very loving, church going parents. The most important thing I love about being a caregiver is the gratification of knowing that I am appreciated in my responsibilities. I became a Certified Nurse Assistant my senior year of high school and started working in the nursing home the month i turned 18. I have had my CNA license for a year and have enjoyed working with my residents. I no longer work at the nursing home because i have had to relocate and haven't found anything closer. I would love to get the chance to meet new people and work on a one on one basis with someone and help make their life a little easier. I became a care giver because I have a big heart and i have been told that by many of my former residents. I go above and beyond and will bend backwards to make sure that you or your loved one is PROPERLY taken care of. I have worked with so many people that have taken short cuts and don't care cause at the end of the day its just a job to them. But as for me i know that i am taking care of someone that is trying to live everyday a little more comfortable even though they cant do as much anymore, its not just a job for me. I admit i get attached but thats expected when you spend everyday with someone and know what they like to do and how they like things done. They become family .
