I would describe myself as a respectful, observant, reliable and patient person who provides first-class care. Over the years, I have worked in various roles where the need to work closely with other people, follow strict rules and procedures, and demonstrate understanding and empathy have been required.

What makes me a great caregiver to me are I will go above and beyond for my residents a are whomever I work for. I am a perfectionist down to the last detail. What 1st attracted me to being a caregiver was my Grandmother she was an LPN up until her 2nd Surgery and was very proud of beinging an LPN. What solidified my beinging a caregiver are a CNA was my oldest son which put me in the role early on of becoming a caregiver He was had to have several surgeries do to a rare Gastrointestinal situation which caused him to be on An IV at all times, a feeding tube and a colostomy Bag for while but not anymore he is 16 now and will be celebrating 17 years of life in 6 month with none of the above. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is simply just the pure love of being able to help someone out period. Being able to see my 1st patient my oldest son see 16 and knowing it was partly my aiding in his care that got him to this milestone in his life is my personal achievement.

I took care of both of my parents. I love being around their wisdom. They think i'm funny and fun to be with. I would rather be around older people. Aways have since I was little. Guess it started in childhood since that's what we had living around us in our neighborhood.! And feel very blessed that its a calling too. I love talking and most of all listening to my clients. I'm very patient and dependable with a Big Heart.!

I am a 53 old grandmother to two beautiful 2 yr old girls. I am mother to a 10 yr old at home and her 5 grown siblings. I am married to my wonderful husband Ken. I love working with people. I decided to be a caregiver because it's something that I've always been used to my grandmother was blind and had cancer my mother had three strokes she was also diabetic and on dialysis I had a sister that was diabetic and I also take care of my brother now who's completely blind he's also diabetic and on dialysis so this is my nature this is what I know to help and take care of people I feel like that's my calling in life I have empathy and am often told I have a sweet and calming spirit I realize that being disabled can be very frustrating at times so I believe that I have the patience to be able to help clients through those difficult times.

What make me a caregiver is Patience. When you work with someone who needs home care it is important that you are patient and understanding. It helps to sometimes put myself in the other person's shoes and see what it might be like to ask people for help. Why did I become a caregiver? Is because I enjoyed taking care of elder family members and would like to help others in this way. I like doing work that has the potential to make a difference in someone's life. I like making someone smile and doing little things to make a person's day better. I love being a caregiver to help other people who really need it. I want to be able to care for them the way I want to be cared for if I should need the care some day. I love helping others in need. An achievement that I'm particularly proud of is how I developed my public speaking skills. I recognised that I needed to be more confident when speaking at team meetings so I could contribute to discussions of issues as well as put ideas clearly. I recognised I held fears about speaking up and if I was to deal with them I would have to commit to a program of personal development.
