I was a CNA doing elder care in Connecticut. I moved to New Jersey to be near my parents and after a few months my Mom moved in and I became her companion and caregiver. I have been doing childcare for the past 5 years. I am a spirited multi-tasker who is compassionate and loving. I can do laundry, housekeeping and cook. I can make a difference in your loved ones life.

I have been taking care of others for over 20 years. From infants to teens to the elderly. I have always been a "mother" figure, even as a child. Taking care of others just came so naturally to me. They have each given me the knowledge and opportunity in their own way to learn that it takes love, patience, discipline, empathy but most of all consistency to be a Caregiver. To raise a child or guide and show a teen that you're not giving up on them. Or to prove to a golden years patient that they can trust you with their care. I guess what attracted me to this line of work was simple. I am a very warm, empathetic person so again it just seems natural to take care of others. I am not the type to step over a person in need, I am the type to lift them up. A personal achievement that I am extremely proud of is my son. My 3 year old baby boy Jaxson. He is quite literally the best thing I have ever done in my entire life and I am in awe of him & so very grateful to be his Mother. He, is what this is all for. Thank you.

I became a Caregiver because I needed the certification for another job that I thought I would be well suited for. I thought I would fair out well as a Lab Tech for one of the local mental hospitals. Not long after I'd graduated from the CNA program and had begun working as a Lab Tech in the hospital clinic, I discovered the hospital was due to close in less than a year ; there were no openings at any of the sister branches. I took a job with a visiting nurse agency as a Phlebotomist / CNA. Although they had more CNA work than Phlebotomy, I needed a job and lacked experience. The job also offered a year long course in disease management coaching and had good benefits. As time passed, I began to work in other areas of caregiving to see what my specialty might be and decided I liked working with seniors; they seemed to have tons of life experience and didn't mind sharing it ( I often found myself wondering if should've been paying them for all they taught me - important things about life I never even thought of !), They seemed to really appreciate anything I did for them. I find the intrinsic value of serving the elders rewarding. Since discovering what my passion is, I've done nothing else.

I've worked in a rehabilitation facility for almost 7 years. Between long term care, memory care, and sub-acute rehab i've seen it all. Growing up with older parents made me really want to take care of people without a voice the best way possible.

I am a certified home health aide. My passion is to help and care for people with their every day needs. I am very patient a good listener and truly enjoy working with others.

Hi!! My name is Lisa. I am happily married to my best friend and I have 4 boys . One of my sons has always had severe medical issues. So I am very familiar being a caretaker. I also work in a school with special needs children. I volunteer as a Girlscout leader and I love animals . I have 3 dogs and 3 chickens and 2 roosters. I love people and believe that you can be the change in the world!!!

I have been doing this profession for 15 years. I love caring for the elderly. I am a very social person. I also have an 84-year-old mother that I care for on a daily basis. I treat my individuals as i would want my mom treated. I am reliable and my clients wait for me to arrive. I enjoy caregiving because I know I have made a difference in a person day, whether it be them feeling alone and giving them companionship. Every mature aged person has a story I love listening to their stories. I believe that everyone deserves dignity I am able to provide my clients dignity, showering them taking them to get their hair done or even their nails done. I do a great job cleaning. I have been employed at the ARC Ocean County for 12 yrs, and before that the ARC of Monmouth County 7yrs. I have worked as Special Needs Program assistant and have worked my way up to an assistant manager of a residential supervised apartments.
