I have been a caregiver in LTC facilities for over 10 years and I have come to the conclusion that if you can keep your loved ones at home, then we should come to them. So I decided to leave that and start working for people from home so they can stay home. I've taken care of younger people, not kids, and of course all the way up to end of life. The experience I have could be great, I just don't want people to have to resort to putting loved ones somewhere where they have care. Let's make that be home more often! I love taking care of others and helping them achieve their goals. This is why I became a caregiver in high school and I have never stopped. I have been. Medical Assistant for 25 years working I doctors offices. I have always had that personality that want a to help someone else, so I became a caregiver about 5 years ago and love it. Both of my aunts had breast cancer a year apart I took them to chemo and to all of their appointments, they are both in remission now, so I would say that was my personal achievement was being there with them and was able to get them through the worst times of their lives.
