I have been a caregiver for 35 years. I have an adult son with disabilities. I have two sets of aging parents who need help. I also have a sister who I provide care for. I am a reliable, dedicated, self-driven individual. I have 2 beautiful, snuggly granddaughters who rock my world! I enjoy, crafts, camping, reading, and helping others.

My journey into Home Health, Hospice and Caregiving started unexpectedly and quite personally. My then 16-year old daughter was diagnosed with a very rare malignant brain tumor. Fast forward 21 years. Although I enjoyed a very successful career as an IT Consultant, it was not emotionally satisfying. I am a caregiver at heart. I have cared for a young woman, now a young adult since her diagnosis with muscular dystrophy as a child. This is on an as-needed basis and she now enjoys independence in her own home. Working with my elderly families has been extremely rewarding. And caring for someone in their final season of life is something God put me on this earth to do. I raise an amazing teen granddaughter and she keeps me young at heart. Her love for pets keeps me on my toes with her two dogs, one cat and Waldo - her turtle. I am enrolling in the WINGS program and will receive my Certified Nursing Assistant(CNA)/Home Health Aide Certification in fall of 2020. This will be immediately followed by their Medication Management Certification program. Although I have performed in these roles and more for two decades, I have only recently decided to accomplish these Certifications. *Note, Any overnight, weekend or holiday shifts will be on an exception basis only*

I have 6 years experience I love being able to help other and be able to do for them as well I have a great personality so my people skills are good I love seeing a smile on people faces and me being able to do so for others amazes me I'm personal achievement is starting something and finishing it no matter what it is seeing my kids happy and proud of me

After nursing school, I worked @ nursing facility . I enjoyed very much caring for the elderly. After 10yrs, working I decided, to do private,work. I'm dependable trust worthy,& honest punctual. I care very much about my professional I have worked as a caregiver for 15 to 20 years.

Each patient becomes my top priority. Their individual needs are evaluated and using my expertise from years of training, I develop relationships that make patients feel safe, secure, and well taken care of. I go over and beyond to see patient improvements each day. Sometimes this requires working with assigned medical staff to give them my care plan. i feel honored to be able to help and assist others. My compassionate nature and my love to help others drew me to this line of work. i believe it is a very important job and its also rewarding to serve the elderly and disabled.

Hi I'm Andrea I want to tell you a little about me. I'm 37 and Married with a stepdaughter who I call my own. We have a cat named Jaspurr. We are located in Norman, Oklahoma. I believe my personality traits that would make me a great caregiver are openness to feelings, straightforwardness(being "frank, sincere, and ingnous") Warmth (being affectionate and friendly) Postive emotions, Competence, Outgoing, Willing to communicate with all parties involved with the person I'm caring for. Patience and understanding. I'm very outgoing and love to talk and learn new things. What attracted me to being a caregiver is from August of 2003 to May of 2004 I took a CNA Class and worked a few short months at the Arbor House in Mustang before getting married for the first time. I moved out of state and did not continue to follow a dream I had of becoming an RN so I have decided to do caregiving and work my way to an RN. I wanted to help those in need and felt that was what attracted me to doing caregiving. What I enjoy most about caregiving is helping those that need it most and for families to be able to not stress or worry about loved ones knowing they have someone like me that can keep their loved ones taken care of and keep them company and just someone to sit with them and listen to stories and many other things. A personal achievement for me is owning my very first brand new car 2021 Kia Rio. I feel another achievement for me is all the training I have taken the time to do on MyCNA Jobs and plan to do more. I have lots of certificates if you have any questions regarding any training please feel free as I was not able to add them to my profile. I'm working on trying to take another CNA class. I however am trained as a caregiver and have many other certifications that I could not add.I have several different certifications. I have been told by everyone I have ever cared for and their families that I am a very positive and energetic person. I have been a caregiver for about 10 years and love what I do. I love being there and helping people when they need it the most, it gives me better self-esteem being wanted and needed.
