'Essentially it is a lesson of love. Because if you can not love, you can not be a caregiver. \\" It's the greatest gift you can give another human being. To give yourself, to give your life for other people. I became a caregiver because i wanted a career that had the potential to make a difference in someones life. I enjoy making someone smile and doing little things to make a persons day better. Being a Caregiver/CNA for 10 years has helped me in so many ways, i have worked in Hospitals, Nursing homes, Private Duty , Hospice care and also with Disabled children. I love what I do. Taking care of people that need my help gives me joy in my heart. I feel it is very important to have someone in you life that truly cares and makes you feel important. A personal achievement I am proud of : Attained \\" Caregiver of the year award \\" by constantly maintaining excellence in my care to residents.

I am loving and caring CNA1&2 with 18 years of experience. I enjoy getting to know my Patients. I love knowing that my job does matter. When I worked in retail, it always bothered me to think about the fact that really, if I wasn't there, no one would be terribly effected. The toy aisle might be a little more messy, but that's about it. That caused very low job satisfaction. As a CNA, even when a day is stressful, it helps to know that your patients need you and that your presence makes a big difference in their day. I don't like how so many facilities do not provide proper staffing for resident safety. I enjoy working with a patient in their home where they feel most comfortable.
Skills & Certifications: Medication Pass, Urgent & Emergency Medical Care, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Care Aide (HCA), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Home Health Aide (HHA), Nursing Home Administrator (NHA), Ward/Unit Management, Intravenous (IV) Procedure & Care, Isolation Care, Medication Management, Laboratory/ Diagnostic Tests Checking, Patient Assessment & Reporting, Treatment Administration & Management, Wound Care, Admission/Discharge Procedure, Activities of Daily Living, Digital & Manual Charting, Vital Signs, Depression, Dementia, Arthritis, COPD, Vision and Eye Disorders, Hearing Disorders, Tracheotomy / Ventilation, Palliative Care, Home Health Care, ALS, Cancer Recovery, Blood Disorders, Skin Disorders, Respiratory Disorders, Renal and Urological Disorders, Post Surgery Recovery, Parkinson's Disease, Orthopedic Care, Stroke, Neurological Disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, Hospice Care, Alzheimer's Disease, Gastrointestinal Disorders, Cardiovascular Disorders, Diabetes

One of my greatest qualities of becoming a caregiver was to care as if it was one of your family members and having that connection one on one in creating a bond and Trust and just making the other person feel safe and bring good energy and being positive everyday. Just learning about the person I'm caring for knowing them on another level of trust and being a friend and compassionate person that is going to help them willingly and how you could just turn your day around and making them feel good and better and for yourself as well. Being a team player cuz sometimes it doesn't go the way you would want things to go and you could just improvise and make it work and adapt to whatever situation is going on in having the communication at all times to know that I'm providing a good job in my caregiving experience.

I come from a family of individuals who have dedicated their life to the bettering of less fortunate individuals. A mother who has worked with mentally handicapped children for over 20 years, an aunt and uncle who currently care for and assist mentally handicapped adults, and a cousin who also works with elderly persons to better their standards of living and independence. This instilled in me a sense of compassion for those who cannot care for themselves, and motivated me to join them in this mission. My favorite part about being a caregiver, has been those times when I was able to help share an experience with someone who otherwise may have never been able to enjoy it again in their lifetime. I also enjoy gaining insight from the wisdom that my clients have obtained over the course of decades before me. I especially am drawn to persons who have served in the armed forces, and lived through some of the roughest times in world history. They are the true hero's in this life, and often don't get the attention they deserve. While I recognize that certain tasks involve some level of discomfort for many individuals, such as bathing and even simply inviting a stranger into ones home, I have become accustomed to these struggles, and have learned how to minimize that apprehension, while still maintaining the clients decency and feeling of privacy. My goal is to provide the support needed to give back whatever the client feels they have lost, and give peace of mind to family, knowing that their loved ones are safe even when they cannot be there for them.

Hi there! My name is Bryan, I have been in healthcare for twenty one years. I started as a cna in a skilled facility. I did that for five years and then started working with the developmentally disabled in semi-independent living situations as well as AHF's. After that, I became an activities assistant, in a skilled facility. That was one of the most amazing jobs ever. I got to create programs at night for residents with sundowners as well as the ones who were bored. Since then, I have done home care as well as working in facilities. I was born to take care of people and that is that. I've done home care from total quadriplegic care, down to basic companionship and housekeeping. I focus on my client and build relationships on what we have in common and their interests. Connection is important. I have also done a lot of end of life care. Helping the client stay comfortable and help the family understand the process that their loved one is going through. You name it and I have probably encountered it. I am ready to build a schedule with new clients and look forward to hearing from you!
