I began my journey 8 years ago when I became a certified nursing assistant. I have worked in long term care facilities, skilled nursing facilities, memory care facilities, hospice, and the hospital. I did not know what I was getting myself into in the beginning but somehow I felt that helping others was meant for me. Being a caregiver is who I am. I enjoy people and connecting with them even when it is a challenge to do so. Every person is unique and has different needs. I always do my best to make them feel comfortable while finding joy in the day. I am currently in my second year of nursing school with a graduation year of 2024. I have 3 children plus 3 step children age in range of 10-17. I have a four legged, super furry son name Kai. I work on the weekends on the med/surg unit at the hospital. Now that school is starting up I have time available to do what I love and that is helping others live a better life.

I became a caregiver over 9 yrs ago.I have been doing since then.I help take care of my dad before his passing in 2015.There is so many ppl that need us.My prayer everyday is how can i be a blessing to someone. I left my job as a Certified Pharmacy Technician pharmacy after 37 yrs to pursue my calling as a hha/caregiver. Its rewarding to fulfill the needs.

What makes me the best caregiver is that i actually care , there are a lot of caregivers that dont truly care and are only in it for the money , I decided to become a caregiver because we need more people that actually care about residents and they day to day needs one day this could be us so how i would want to be treated i treat my others . Im a very helpful person sometimes overly helpful , I became a caregiver because i feel like im a very genuine and generous person i so i felt like becoming a caregiver would help me Fulfill that . A person achievement i am proud is how far ive came with my life i struggled with getting bullied in school and i've become some confident and self-sufficient with who i am now
