Aloha Families, My name is Brandy K Pao and I am currently an Aide at The Plaza Mililani Assisted Living home located in Mililani Mauka. As an Activity Aide I assist seniors with severe dementia and alzheimer's disease in activities such as exercise and movement, arts/paper crafts (particularly good with paper flowers). I am currently enrolled in the Halia Program certified by The Plaza. It is a course in which we learn more in depth about memory loss and how to keep a resident as comfortable as possible. We learn the history of the resident, his/her dislikes and interests and learn how to incorporate that knowledge in every day situations. If a resident has an interest in something we try to engage the resident in that particular activity. As an Aide in my current job we assist with meals, serving and preparing food which residents request for. I expect to up hold good communication between families and/or other aides caring for the resident about medications, meeting and appointments. I am able to gather groceries and pick up prescriptions as needed. Looking to gain a part time job Mon/Tues and Thrs/Fri available from 6:00 am- 6:00 pm.
