My grandma helped raise me for the first few years of my life and I was very close to her. She got sick with cancer my senior year of high school. I was able to help take care of her so we could keep her at home where she wanted to be. From then on I knew my calling is to help people. I was able to keep my father at home and help my mom care for him when he got sick with cancer. I am good at what I do because my only goal is make people happy and comfortable and feel they are loved and important. I miss the hands on care of working with patients. The nursing facility scene has become very much about how much money can be charged to the insurance companies in the least amount of time and I honestly just want to help people so I believe private caregiving could be very fulfilling.

In my opinion I am a great caregiver because I have so much passion for my job. I take care of every elderly person as if they are my parents when they get older. I want to make sure they are happy, that's all that matters to me. The thing that attracted me to being a caregiver was taking care of my grandmother before she passed away. I cared for her for about 4 years and it inspired me to go and help those who can't do things themself anymore. The thing I enjoy most about being a caregiver is knowing these people are clean, fed, groomed and have a smile on their face. When you can't do something on your own; that extra hand is most delightful. A personal achievement I am most proud of is getting to where I am today, because being a caregiver was a goal I had for so long and I finally achieved it and I came out on top.

I want to provide the same quality of care and companionship that I received for my loved one during their time of need. It is a personal satisfaction knowing that I helped make a difference in someones life. I am friendly, outgoing, willing to learn all that I can and enjoy working with others.

Update...I am now living in Casa Grande, Az. I love being a caregiver because I am a natural nurturer. I am empathetic, caring and kind. I am an excellent cook and love to please my clients! I have a lot of experience in Dementia care. I took care of my grand mother for 10 yrs, until the age of 99. I have a very special ability to build a trusting, caring and loving rapport with my clients. I have excellent work references also. I have been a registered nurse for 13 years in the UK and was a care assistant for nine years before that. I have cared for adults of all ages and thoroughly enjoy assisting adults with their activities of daily living. To be able to build a close relationship with a person and earn their trust I find extremely rewarding. I have recently moved to the U. S. and until I can work here as a nurse I have been working as a carer. I am reliable, trustworthy, efficient and very easy to get along with. I also have a German Shepherd and a cat so I love animals.

I am 19 years old and currently attending nursing school. I have always had a drive to help those in need. The main attraction I have towards caregiving is how rewarding the job itself is, when your patience or who ever you are helping goes from having a bad day and you are able to make them smile that to me hands down is the biggest reward any human can have. I enjoy the mile stones that are sometimes achieved through caregiving such as a stroke patient, learning how to walk again and getting the opportunity to witness along with being a part of that moment is just pure joy because your helping someone achieve their independence back. My greatest achievement would have to be being the first one in my family to graduate high and attend and complete college.

My name is Dayton I am 18 years old, i have two kids i take care for have a beautiful fiance. And know how to take care of elderly. My great grandma was taken care of by me since i was 14 years old and she had alzheimers I changed her diaper and gave her medication on time everytime i know personally how it feels to take care of elderly and its very important to me. I lost my grandma a year ago and i just want to continue on helping the elder and learn from them as well
