About me, I always wanted to be a registered nurse since I was a little girl. I didn't get that far the goal was to take care of people. I love what I do. It's not about the money it's about caring and taking care of people and giving them the attention and love they need. I am a 43 year old with 18 years of experience working in this field of Nursing . I live in the city of San Francisco but I also spent a lot of time in my other apartment in the East Bay ( El cerrito City ) due to work and having a family members as well . I am a Licensed vocational Nurse (LVN) and a certified nursing assistant ( CNA) as well . I work with people with different types of disabilities and injures . And I have worked in several hospitals in San Francisco and in the East Bay as well. I am bilingual , I speak English and Spanish and i own my car . I enjoy working this field and helping people very much, I am an honest and responsible person, and well provide you with a very great quality of care . Why a caregiver it has always been in the family the nourishment and ability to help each other. I enjoy how my clients share their life history it means we have bonded in a personal way he or she is willing to give information that is usually meant for their family. Personal achievement to be proud of there are many I am proud of overcome any difficulties life put on our path. Life is a rollercoaster we all have difficulties that is the ride going up, we have our scary moments those are the turns/twists on a ride and the fun is the flat area toward the end when everything seems to be going our way.

I have been a care giver for over 30 years now. It started when I was 17 years old working in a neighborhood coffee shop that seniors dined at regularly. I would overhear them speaking of tasks they could not take care of around their house by themselves. That's when I started offering to come over after work to help them. Then sometimes a husband would come in without a wife or a wife without a husband and I would ask where the other one was, they would reply they were sick at home. I would then asked if I could do anything or check in on them and they really appreciated it. Eventually I gave up my job at the coffee shop and became a full time caregiver. I love working with people while it makes a difference in their life.

What makes me a great caregiver is my compassion and empathy, my desire to help and be beneficial to others. My strength lies in my abilities to understand what is needed in helping my client achieve better health care outcomes. Having a background in healthcare of over 30 years experience taking care of clients from newborns to centurions. I'm trained postoperative rehabilitations and hospice care. My experience as both a registered nurse and chiropractor affords me insight into skills that are needed when taking care of clients with broad healthcare needs.

I have chosen my career as a caregiver because I get an enormous amount of satisfaction from helping and caring for others. I have been in the Healthcare field for over ten years and have experienced pretty much every kind of situation plausible in the home health care setting. I am a very empathetic and knowledgeable home care provider and I take great pride in my work.

I am a RN who has been caring for my father since diagnosed with kidney cancer after battling bladder cancer two years ago. Through this caretaker position I have gained experience working with physicians/nurses/healthcare workers, learning how to organize/prioritize tasks surrounding his care and therapeutically communicating with him and the family. My decision to enter the health care as a nurse came from caring for my mother who has battled cancer for the past 13 years, first breast cancer and then bone cancer. Being involved with her post-op mastectomy care, taking her to chemotherapy and radiation treatments and the aftercare of such treatments has given me an insight into oncology, medical-surgical, senior health, nutrition, and health teaching. I have recently completed a job on the Acute Rehab unit at CPMC Davies Hospital, caring for patients that suffer complex catastrophic injuries/illnesses, i.e. stroke, spinal cord/brain injuries, amputation, hip fracture, neurological disorders, Alzheimer’s, osteoarthritis. I have gained expertise in transfer techniques and bowel treatment programs as well as physical/occupational therapy and daily caretaking responsibilities including bathing, fall prevention, cleaning, meals, etc. I enjoy working as a nurse and caretaker because I love to help individuals progress whether that be through motivation or assistance in maintaining their dignity and ability to continue their activities of daily living (ADLs) as much as possible.
