I became a caregiver because, I am a people person and enjoy helping others. I also enjoy making a difference in other people lives, also I love the difference and impact they make on me. I have a soft spot for the elderly disabled and those in need. There is a certain satisfaction in knowing you do all that it take make sure my patient has a smile on their face, and the loved ones as well. Helping others is what I love doing. Working with children from an early age has taught me many skills, including patience, compassion, understanding, and gentleness. Seeing so many elder people who need help from a day to day basis, has made me think back to my childhood and experience taking care of my grandmother. As well as the promise I made to take care of her as an adult, and sadly wasn't able to. Being a caregiver is something that helps me feel closer to my grandmother and fulfill the promise I made to her. An achievement I'm very proud and grateful for is becoming the woman my grandmother new I would be and being able to have conversations with people who have been have seen the world longer then I could imagine.

I am a great caregiver because I show compassion, I care a lot, I treat all my patients/residents with respect and treat them the way they'd like to be treated.
