I went into healthcare right out of high school and have been in the field since. I love providing care for all ages. Its my passion. I'm currently in school to continue my education in nursing. I volunteer at my local animal control. I am very passionate about animal care and protecting them from abuse. I current foster animals to get them ready for their furever home.

I am a very caring person, and treating patients as family. I love taking care of people that is not able to take care of themselves. I enjoy putting smiles on the patient face and getting to know them personally, because it helps me to know what they like and don't like. What hurts them and what doesn't hurt. I'm proud of the things I've learned, wound care, feeding, repositioning, everything that is an addition of being CNA.

Hi my name is Erin. Let me start by telling you why I got into this line of work to begin with. My dad is 60 yrs old now but in 2013 he was diagnosed with leukemia. He went through several rounds of chemo and then his bone marrow transplant. After a bone marrow transplant they give you medicine to keep you from rejecting the transplant. He was so sick and not getting any better. He began having siezures which lead the doctors to do more tests to find out why and when they did they found that he was allergic to the medicine and it had caused him to have several strokes. From there he went on to an acute care facility and to rehab but he was never the same. It left him paralyzed. While he was in and out if these facilities we saw so many things that were just wrong. Patients calling for nurses and the nurses never went to help. After that we took him home and mother and I learned to care for my father ourselves. After all that I decided I was going to go into home healthcare to care for people so that they didn't have to go to a nursing home because people deserve to be loved and cared for just like my father. This personal experience is what makes me a great caregiver.

I became an care giver at the age of 14 i have 5 sisters and 1 brother in the oldest so i always had to take care of them being a care giver but it really wasn't until my sick grandmother moved in with us she was bed bound nurses use to come to our home and help her with all her everyday living needs i would often help the nurses with the duties and when they weren't there i would take care of my grandmother. I like the fact that i can help someone that's unable to help them self while being compassionate and making them happy. an accomplishment im happy with is getting certified as a nursing assistant im already a pca, hha. im a very fun out going caring person i truly enjoy being a caregiver and when i get older an cant help myself i hope to have someone take as good care of me as i took of other people. My grandmother passed away but i no she would be very happy to see im still continuing working as a CAREGIVER.

I genuinely care about all people and when they are in a time of need they can depend on me. I was in a business that didn't care much about me, being a CNA has brought so much joy and happiness to my life because of the people you care for and there families appreciate you taking care of their loved ones.

Why did you become a Caregiver? I Became a caregiver because i have the passion to help people who are in need and i enjoy assisting people who cannot assist their selves. I Like being a caregiver because i feel important in my patients life they depend on me to get their day started in a positive mood regardless of their health or circumstance What is a personal achievement you are proud of? There is one of many achievements that i am proud of but their is one that sticks out more than the others one of my patients had been at the facility i had started working at for 4 years and did not speak to anyone the whole time he was there i did not know that he did not talk because he always talked to me when one of my fellow co workers came to assist me with turning they heard the patient talking to me and was in shock and told me that the patient has not spoken in years and that we should call his wife right away .the wife came and was amazed and in tears hearing her husband speak and laugh with her.It was a heart warming experience because i know i was the asset to the break through. What Makes me a great caregiver is that I have patients and Im dedicated to my people. Im a people person love meeting new people and helping others that are in need. What attracted me to be a caregiver was seeing the passion my mom had doing it over 25yrs and seeing all the nice people she took care of. Im proud to be able to have this opportunity and being able to go to school to further my career.

Born to older parents, exposed to illness, my parents didn't believe that this should be hidden from me. It would be better to be exposed in order to be prepared for life. Parents were German immigrants, and went through the second world war. One of the earliest experiences that I can remember is my dad relapsing from malaria. I applied cold compresses, and served him liquids, as the doctor told me to. My mom was ill, and cared for her until she died at age 46.I was 12. At 17, I was hired by Kimberly Quality Care as a home health aide. My client suffered a traumatic brain injury, and I learned so much from his family and the research I did on the subject. This led me to nursing school, and here it is, so many years later, and I am still learning more. Science and medicine are my passion, and that will never change. The advances made daily basis are not just amazing, but confounding. The scientific community is one I'm proud to be a part of. The best thing that I have ever done was in South Carolina, on the 3-11 shift. In order to save a life, I bypassed facility protocol, and I called rescue to send a patient to the hospital STAT. The staff was shocked, and told me that I would be fired. I was ready to lose my license, if that would just save that life. Long story short, the MD, who was also the medical director, treated this patient. He came in the following shift to let me know that the person survived, and if I had hesitated, that would not have been the case. I receiv
