Hello, My name is Christina. I've been a caregiver for just over 10 years now. I love my job. I love getting to know someone on a very personal level and trying to make life alittle easier, if only for a little while. I've always wanted to work in the medical field. After getting some wisdom from some family that had been in it for many years, I decided to start with my Certification for nursing assistance first. I've done facility and private care for many years each and love the impact that I have had and equally received from my patients. I've done almost every skill that you can think of, from driving to doctors apt. to staying over night for end of care, and everything in between. One of the things Im most proud of, in regards to caregiving is becoming 'part of the family'. I love that I can give the family members a sense of security knowing that I am there for thier loved ones.

30 years old. I've been a CNA since 2012. I was a traveling CNA 3 years until I had my daughter. I've worked in nursing homes, home health, hospitals, and hospice.

I started work in a nurseing home at 15 years old worked in laundry and housekeeping for a year and a half then i went to cna classes at st.athonys care center in rock island il. I worked up to a cna intil 2015 when i went private care . now im a personal care assistance / caregiver . im 46 years old i live in aledo il, i have two sons one is 26 years old and onther one is 23 years old .i enjoy being with clients i have respect, honest, truthful, encouragement, love , caring, protection, im looking for monday thru friday day shift hours .i have 34 years of experience. Cna /caregiver/personal care assistance .

I am a Christian and I'm not ashamed of loving the Lord and I love helping people and doing his work. Like many I've made a lot of bad decisions in life and my words was not spending this much time with my grandma as possible while she lives here and recently succumb to Alzheimer's. I am 21 years old, I am currently out of school on winter break. I was at Kirkwood Community College for 2 years, I finished most of my prerequisites, now I am back in the Quad Cities, to get a lot more experience until I'm back at Black Hawk in the fall! I have been working with the elderly since I was 16, I have worked in assisted living/and nursing homes but I'm home care is my favorite. I like to be in their home, where they feel happy. So they can feel comfortable at all times. I like to do things that they would like to do, ( nails, shopping, eating, sewing, talking,bingo,puzzles,music, hair salon etc. The little that they might think they can't do anymore. I make sure that they are having fun! And for the ones who can't get out, I do activities in home to.

I first became interested in working with the elderly in high school. I have worked in care facilities as well as in client homes. Personally I enjoy working in the homes more allowing the person to stay in their home versus going to a facility. The smiles on the clients face is priceless and it makes what ever chore or task worth doing. I have always went the extra mile for the client even if it meant I wouldnt be paid.

I became a care giver to try and make a difference in someone's life. I enjoy meeting new people and helping people even if its just to sit and listen to what they have to say. A personal achievement that I am proud of is I have never let my work interfere with my home life. I am a mother of five and a stepmother to two more children. I love taking care of people.
