Hi my name is Dana. I am a mother of five beautiful children three girls and two boys. I have been in the healthcare industry since 2009, it's a passion I have. I was born to help people and be there for anyone that needs it. I am cpr and first aide certified. I truly just want to be someone's helping hand or just someone that's there.

I was told at the age of 12 I was going to be a caregiver. Caregiving for the elderly is my life's work. I truly enjoy it. My greatest accomplishment has been learning how to do an in and out cath(female) by the patient herself!!

You have to have the right mentality to be able to be a caregiver..... Heart, compassion, understanding, and most needed patience!! My husband has Parkinson's Disease and seizures on a daily basis. I have learned a lot from him. I've worked with assisted living and have done Private Sitting for many years with many clients. My greatest accomplishments have been my client with Parkinson's Disease. This was even before we knew my husband had it. I was with him for 4 months before he passed. I even did the post mortem care. My second accomplishment has been working with a quadriplegic and learning from her, how to do an in and out Cath!! I'm a pro now!! I truly enjoy this line of work. I love meeting new people!!

I find it my passion to care for the elderly and the sick. I pride myself in helping others and creating a lasting relationship with client and family. I find my achievements to be the smiles, laughs, and personal relationship that I have created. I am divorced with one child.

I became a caregiver completely by accident, but for sure not an accident. My neighbor, who I had yet to meet, asked me over to meet with her and her brother. Apparently, her brother had a crush on me and she needed someone to sit with him during the day. That was a 3 year friendship even after they moved out of state. From then until now, I've been a constant caregiver. I've cared for my own family members, my friend's family members and for strangers who became family members. I've worked in assisted living facilities, nursing homes and private in home care. Private in home care is my choice over anything, because I know that my person will have all the attention and care they need. The one thing I ask other caregivers who are just starting out in this line of work is, what kind of relationship do you have with your parents and/or grandparents? If there is no relationship with their own family, there is no way they can ever give the kind of care someone else's parents or grandparents need. I go into each person's home and give the kind of attention and care I would expect a caregiver to give my own family member. You have to have the right mentality to do this line of work and I know for certain I've got that!

I became a caregiver 5 years ago, I was raised to respect and take care of those in need. I believe staying in your own home is very important. I enjoy being able to hear the stories of days gone by, keeping individual as comfortable as possible while allowing them to keep their Independence is also important to me. I have experience with dementia, Alzheimer, Stroke and Parkinson. I am always ready for the challenge and I pride myself on my ability to research and communicate my clients needs very well. I have a flexible schedule and reliable transportation. Nights, weekends, and holidays are not an issue. I look forward to hearing from you to see if I am a match for your needs.
