I have the passion and desire to help the older generation live the lives they deserve! I believes every elder should have a right to remain happy and healthy at home. Because our life may change with age, but our ability to maintain a safe, independent lifestyle shouldn't.

I became a caregiver since 1993 when I graduated from a Teachers Training College back in my country Cameroon and started teaching in a kindergarten and middle school respectively for 12 years before travelling to the USA in 2006. I became a caregiver because I have the passion of taking care of children and adults alike. I am a very compassionate person with a flexible, friendly and patient character. I love making people happy and comfortable wherever I am. Being a caregiver has made me learn a lot about life and the way different people behave and interact with others. If I am in an environment that does not need noise I am comfortable, if in another that is noisy I am still comfortable. Have learnt to adapt and move according to what environment I find myself with love and care as much as I can give. I have worked with many people with dementia, diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke etc. I did my best to care for them, tolerating and being patient. So I achieved patience and tolerance which is still helping me now when I have to give care.

I became a caregiver because I have a great passion to care for people. I love putting smiles on people's face in which is a healthy therapy for people I care and work for.

I have always felt a calling and a passion for caregiving. I have over 15 years of experience providing compassionate care in Skilled and private homecare settings. I am a single mother and student at UMGC. Currently working towards a bachelor's degree in Gerontology and Aging Services and a minor in Psychology, and proudly graduating in December of 2024! From there, I plan to work towards a master's degree in Occupational Therapy. I am dedicated and dependable, and the hourly rate is negotiable depending on the level of care and time of day needed, etc.

I am a 54 years old from Banjul the Gambia W/Africa I came to the US since 1992 with my family,then in 1993 I started as a .HHA and then become as a CNA in 1994 I like to help people that's what makes be join the home care field I am license and certified I worked with Alzheimer's, Dementia and Hospice patients .

I enjoy helping others, and one of the things I like is to get engage the client and family in their care. I love cooking and reading, I love to engage into a routine that makes my client confident on his/her care. However, at times some people likes to pick what ever they like to do daily, still, there is no problem with that! I am a happy person, I enjoy making my client smile and keep with good spirit. I enjoy the outdoors and keeping my client active. I have worked for hospice as well, and I do not have a problem seating with someone and just listen, or also just keep silent while things do not go the way they expected. I have a great training with Alzheimer's disease and dementia; and here, I really enjoy the elderly! I received my CNA/HHA certification in 1997. I moved from California to Virginia and have not attended school here. I do have a valid with very good clean driving record DL and a CPR training if need it and I am well trained when doing safe transfers. I am working in a hospital .8 was hired to be clear; but I want to work more.
