I have always been more mature for my age. I grew up as an only child, only hanging around adults. I have always had a caring personality and when I was 18 after I graduated high school I started working as a CNA at an adult day care, caring for geriatrics with dementia. I fell in love with them. They may not be able to remember your name or their own name but they can tell you stories about their childhood that bring warmth to your heart. I am very good at caring for geriatrics, making them feel comfortable in embarrassing situations for them (bathing, changing soiled linen) because they still deserve dignity and respect which I make sure they know they have the upmost respect. Some geriatric patients have a hard time with caregiving because they have literally give up every ounce of independence they used to have which is hard to cope with. My personality is very smiley and happy around geriatrics which makes them feel better. I also have a very loud voice which is an advantage with geriatrics since most are hard of hearing, they can hear me because I tend to speak loudly. I am an RN however I love being a caregiver too. I am very good at caring for people, making them feel comfortable, I am very easy to talk to and educating on medical information also.

To put my positive strengths and abilities to good use in caring for individuals who are in need of an empathetic and skilled caregiver. I have optimum bedside manners and rapport in dealing with patients and family members, Strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse populations,ability to exercise tact and understanding in stressful situations, ability to interpret and follow multiple tasks and making documentation about the patient care and Progress.

During the intern portion of CNA training the people were the most important part of my day. I enjoyed doing what I could to make them comfortable and assuring that they were safe. I like making someone smile and doing little things to make the persons day better. Helping with the little things, like finding creamer for their coffee (as long as it was on their dietician list) was important as well. I like doing work that has a potential to make a difference in someone's life. When I am older, I want someone like myself there to help me when I need help.

I'm a very loving person who loves caring for people, it warms my heart knowing I made someone's day a lot easier, just by helping with daily care. The reason I got into caregiving was because my grandmother was sick and I was the one to take care of her after that, I knew this was something I'd love doing, I also treat people and their families like they're my own. Hello my name is Harley I have been in the health care field for 9 years. I LOVE what I do! I always go above and beyond to make everyone happy, keep a smile and a laugh on their face even tho at times they may not be feeling their best. I have worked with all people from mental health to cancer, at the hospital I am float pool so every night I see something new and learn something new. My biggest accomplishments happen every time I work and someone who has had a horrible day looks at me and says you been the best nurse I've had and it happens all the time. I see Jesus in everyone so I treat everyone as they should be treated and not just the bare minimum but above and beyond at ALL TIMES what everyone is truly are worthy of.
