Ever since my mother was diagnosed in 2016 with kidney cancer, I've taken a newfound appreciation for home health care. I helped my father and younger sister care for our mother in her last years. My family has instilled a kindness in me that I carry with me every single day, as it's part of who I am, of who they raised me to be. My parents taught me about how to reflect the love I've been given in my life back out into the world, and there's not a day that goes by that I don't think about how I can make a difference. I've learned a lot in my life about patience, about knowing to remain joyful in every day, as we are never promised tomorrow. I've been a caregiver for my father in the last few years as well, and I'll never regret that. Being someone who will listen, who will show up and be there for the ones we love, that is what is important to me. I hope I can be that pillar of support for others in my life, and I'm inspired by my parents kindness to do so. I enjoy being able to give others a chance at independence, to feel better about their situations knowing it doesn't have to be done alone. Helping my family in their time of need has been my greatest achievement, because at the end of the day the connections I carry through this life are what matter the most to me. I'm always wanting to learn, wanting to elevate my understanding of this life in how we can help each other, and my goal is to continue to bring that kindness instilled to me to every table I sit at in my life. My father and sister have lived their whole lives with diabetes, so I'm very familiar with treatments and knowing the signs for potential lows or highs in blood sugar levels. I believe in respecting people who need support and allow myself to be available however I can in their day to day life. I keep myself in good shape and have no problems with assisting in any heavy lifting a client may need.

I enjoy being a caregiver most because I am able to help someone live a better quality of life that they would not have otherwise on their own as well as a safer environment and just knowing I am able to help someone makes it just that much more rewarding.

My name is Jerame Simonds. I have been a CNA for 3 years in July. I enjoy what I do. I have been with the same place for 3 years. I just looking for a new opportunity and better pay I make 8.50 where I am now, and college is getting higher and higher.

I become a caregiver because I have a passion for this field and enjoy working with the elderly. Though I am only 28 I have a decade of experience in CNA Patient care. I have worked hospital, assisted living, skilled facility and in home.

I make an excellent care giver because I have experience and a heart for others in their weakest state. I volunteered when I was 12 yrs old. Walked 2.5 miles each way to be a candy stripper! Then exceeded into recreational assistant. I have taken care of quadriplegic patients. Most recently took care of my step father who ultimately lost his battle with congestive heart failure. I am a believer in encouragement not belittling! I am a hard worker, reliable and trust worthy. I've been doing this over 20 yrs! Years of experience, I think, makes me an excellent choice to care for your loved ones. The experience has allowed me to be in many different home settings and given me the chance to learn all about what elderly become interested in as they age and begin to be unable to preform their normal daily activities. Aging is a difficult process and sometimes family members are inexperienced with the difficult task of trying to keep anxiety low, especially when dealing with sundowners in the elderly. Patience is a great asset that I've learned to have when dealing with endless questions and misunderstandings the elderly can develop.
