I became a Caregiver because I needed the certification for another job that I thought I would be well suited for. I thought I would fair out well as a Lab Tech for one of the local mental hospitals. Not long after I'd graduated from the CNA program and had begun working as a Lab Tech in the hospital clinic, I discovered the hospital was due to close in less than a year ; there were no openings at any of the sister branches. I took a job with a visiting nurse agency as a Phlebotomist / CNA. Although they had more CNA work than Phlebotomy, I needed a job and lacked experience. The job also offered a year long course in disease management coaching and had good benefits. As time passed, I began to work in other areas of caregiving to see what my specialty might be and decided I liked working with seniors; they seemed to have tons of life experience and didn't mind sharing it ( I often found myself wondering if should've been paying them for all they taught me - important things about life I never even thought of !), They seemed to really appreciate anything I did for them. I find the intrinsic value of serving the elders rewarding. Since discovering what my passion is, I've done nothing else.

I've been a care giver 24 years I've work in nursing homes for 10 years+ worked for company's for companion five years I'm now employee of caring projects and I take care of clients in a group home which we have 50 of them DDD clients I have experience in just about every I love what I do taking care of our elders God's plan I also believe it gives the family the time to relax and have comfort in knowing thier love ones are in good hands and taking care of

My name is shaqwan Henry I'm 44 years old I started out being a care giver in 2004 with disabled children in the south jersey area doing childcare I was contacted and asked do I handle care for adults as well at the time I didn't I was only certified to handle children. by 2006 I was certified to care give for adults as well and started to do so working for my self.i love to help people and make money for my family I feel it's a blessing just as well as a job.thats what attracted me to care giving.what I like the most about it is the blessing of being able to help people in need and make a difference in they every day life by making it easy and letting them feel loved and knowing it's people here to help.one of my personal achievements is to send my first child to college.

I became a caregiver to help individuals that need care and bring happiness to others who may have lost hope. I enjoy meeting new people and bringing happiness to others. I am proud that I have an associates degree in science and that I am only a few courses away from my BA in psychology. I love to read and write and to help others. I do not have a credit card to do a background check, but I have my CNA certificate which requires you do get your fingerprints done in order to be a nursing assistant.
