I became a caregiver because one day as I was walking in Manhattan, I saw an elderly man was crossing the road, he needed help crossing because the traffic was too much for him to cross by himself so I took the opportunity in helping him to cross the road, it was then that I realized, I can take up this as a professional and that is when I became a HHA/caregiver. In 2008 .Being a caregiver is about having patience , something you can do for someone who is in need of assistance, its a blessing when caring for elderly. I am very responsible , flexible , reliable ,charming, hard working and a loving person. I am a honest worker, with a good sense a humor. I provide all ADL, including light house keeping, reminds of meds, cooking arrands ,doctors appointments. etc. I like to play games. Especially when it comes to a client that really doesn't like to talk much or may not have much energy or excitement during their day. I learned sometimes a smile and a good joke is the best medication. I believe that's what makes me a great care giver besides the fact that I am well experienced in bed transfers to toilet/sitting device and or wheelchair as well as usage of the Hoyerlift for bedbound clients. I always had a way of making people cheer up. I had one clients family that were so happy with my service she wrote a letter to the job to Express her satisfaction with my care for her mother. She said it was my calling from God. I don't want to exaggerate my story but I have been blessed with seeing happy faces, when i arrived in the morning, to a few clients home. With most of my cases. I am definitely grateful for keeping alot of my clients healthy, happy and safe.
