Ever since I was a little girl I knew that I wanted to be in the healthcare field no matter the job. I obtained my CNA during high school and I've been loving the work that I do every step of the way. I am very compassionate, empathetic, punctual, organized, selfless, and overall just a hard-working individual. I enjoy working with my clients and getting to know them on a personal level and I also enjoy getting into a daily routine with them. My work ethic and my overachieving attitude are what I am most proud of with myself. I tend to push myself beyond my limits daily and I always like to remind myself that there is always room for improvement.

I became a caregiver because my whole family has worked in this field with helping others and I loved seeing the patients happy. I like being a caregiver because knowing the patients cant really do daily things like most people can I know I am here to help them succeed in achieving these daily goals that they would like to do. My personal achievement that I am proud of is making others smile and get through their day.

I am a retired Registered Nurse with over 20 years of experience taking care of elderly patients in the nursing home and hospital setting. I became a nurse because when I was young, my grandmother was very ill. I helped her with cooking, cleaning and activities of daily living; including shopping. I enjoyed helping and being depended upon. She always said I would make a great nurse and I believed her. I am a great caregiver because I love what I do and am passionate about quality of life for all. I have a sister with Down's syndrome and I helped take care of her and teach her many life skills. My parents are elderly now and I live out of state, but I keep very abreast of their care and daily living through daily phone calls and follow-up calls to doctors and social workers, etc. I have always taken care of my family, I became a nurse at 33 years old; when my last child went to school. I am very proud of that. I recently, in 2008, sustained a concussion which lead into post-concussive syndrome. I have come a very long way from where I was then, and even though, I cannot return to nursing as a career, my passion for taking care of the senior population has not waned one bit. It was my life's dream and I want to still be able to make a difference in people's lives.

I became a caregiver because I like the feeling of helping people and how good it makes me feel at the end of the day to know that I have put a smile on someone's face or made their day. Just to let someone know that they have someone who cares.

I became a care giver when I was very young. I was blessed to have and know my great grandparents and grandparents. so as a little girl I began to take care of them because I loved them and because it came very natural to me. I loved the feeling of helping people and making them feel better and knowing that I made a difference. Just to know I helped them to be comfortable whether it was changing a bandage helping with medication making sure they got to a doctors appointment bathing them helping them with their p.a. just talking with them mostly listening (my fav) It never bothered me to sit with someone in their final days I knew they knew they were not alone. I have to say that doing these things are my personal achievements that I have done and want to continue to do. I have a huge heart and a tender touch and a lot of common sense . I'm funny and outgoing and love to bring my personal touch to ones life. I hope to continue to do my best and bring smiles and make everyone I take care of feel safe and secure. I'm a good communicator. I believe that being so makes things so much easier and helpful in everyway. I'm always open to change and to do better. I hope one day to be a recipient of what I have given to others.
