Since I was a very young girl when asked what I want to do I've always been able to respond in the same way: I want to help people. I've always been driven to grow and improve. This desire also extends out to the people around me. As a caregiver, I go out of my way to ensure my client's needs are met before that of my own. I try to get to know each person as what they really are: an incredible human being, with a LOT to offer. I always try to learn something from my incounters, no matter how brief the engagement. I am also a good listener who demonstrate understanding and empathy. Over the years, I have worked in various roles where the need to work closely with other people, follow strict rules and procedures, and also getting a task done in a timely manner. I enjoyed being a caregiver because of my passion to take care of others and treat them well with love and respect the same way I would want to be treated. I love helping people, I'm a very laid back chill person to be around. I feel that adds comfortablility and calmness. I choose caregiving to be able to help people and not be taken advantage of but rather have people be thankful and grateful for the help I have to offer. I enjoy being able to give the care people deserve and knowing the job is done right and people are not being mistreated. I'm proud to have been able to work with kids, young adults, adults all the way to hospice care. Its a blessing to be able to care for people and build companionship and trust.

I not only want to be the person that care for you but a friend as well. I like to get to know a person to better care for them. I've been in health care since 2005 I was 14 and I love it. I love meeting new people along the way.

I'm a people person. I'm flexible and compatible with, I would say, just about every personality type. Just for the simple fact that I accept people for who they are and where they are. I like to say, essentially, I will meet them where they're at in life. What attracted me to being a caregiver is my desire to help people live as free and independent as possible. I enjoy being a caregiver because I love people and their company and I love hearing their stories of where they've been and what they've done. I think what I love most about being a caregiver is just the fact that I'm empowered to give a piece of myself to someone, to hopefully make their life better or more comfortable. I have a lot of achievements, but I think the one that I'm most proud of is the one where I had a client who would not allow anyone to draw their blood or do any kind of testing on them that was really necessary to make things better for them and get them a proper health care assessment. But, they were willing to put down their guard for me. Because of me they allowed work to be done and I can't tell you how thrilled I was that I would have that effect on somebody.

First and foremost, I am highly healthcare competent with a lot of patience, attentiveness, dependable, trustworthy and compassion oriented. My call was to be a healthcare practitioner to help the needy and the poor in the society, but due to lack of school fee to join the Medical University in Africa. I did a Diploma course in Pharmacy and later found myself working in different specialties Wards, hence taking a course in Nursing Assistant in America. I enjoyed serving the old and the young people by seeing them from dependent to independent and also getting to see them go through a smooth aging process. My personal achievements in my practice as caregiver are countless but the most recent was an award given thrice between January, march and the latest Portrait from my employer as motivation for the job well done.

I've tried many different jobs through out my life and have found the most satisfaction in caring for others. I enjoy helping others in any way I can. I'm a single mom of an 11 year old boy. I've been a CNA since 2001. I've gone to school at PCC, specializing in gerontology, end of life care, and dementia. I've worked in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and in home. I'm a hard worker and am always trying to come up with new ways to improve the lives of the ones I care for.
