I started as a volunteer with Hospice of Michigan as a teen. Stayed with it. I'm a happy, vibrant artist as well. Animal lover. And have a true love for creating a comfortable environment and offering companionship through any stage of life.

I became a caregiver because, I love to work with people. I like being a caregiver, because it is very rewarding. I am proud to have gotten my CNA and CNA 2. I love to work with home/ health and hospice the most. I have worked with many hospice patients and I am very good at working with the families of hospice patients too. My passion is hospice although I have worked with many kinds of patients. I have worked at Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg for seven years, from 1997 to 2004. I have done private paid jobs and caregiving jobs. I have worked with dementia and Alzheimer patients, too. It doesn't matter what kind of patients I work with, because I have a passion for nursing. I am a very caring and have a bubbly personality and have excellent references.

I am a caregiver because it is my passion, and I am very experienced in the field of geriatrics. You can say that home care was rooted into me at five. Some of my earliest memories are of my mother taking care of my grandmother at her bedside. In high school I went to college part of the day and obtained my Nursing assistant certification. The ultimate goal even as I entered the Army was to become a PA or a DO. Now we have come full circle and I have my mother living with me who has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. We have been able to see it coming the last two years so I decided to transition from management at an assisted living to home care to be in control of my time. This way I could still work in this field that I love but also be there for my mother when she needs me. I believe that it is an honor and a privilege to take care of our elders in our community and I truly enjoy what I do. I currently work with a dear family I have worked with for going on two years, proud to say their health is improving so I work 10 hours a week and am looking to feel up hours by being able to get to know and help new families. Over the last ten years I have worked in skilled nursing, assisted nursing, rehabilitation centers, VA and home care I am experienced and I love to continue to learn. My main goal with college was to transition from psychology to DO of medicine, but after my husband returned from deployment I did not continue, I do not regret it though, because I have had a chance to personally get to know some amazing families and look forward to new friends along the way but the experience of clinicals in the field of medicine and education in school has stuck with me.

I have previously worked at the Mennonite Village at Lydia's house which is a memory care unit, Oregon Veterans Home skilled nursing and in home care totaling in 3 years of experience with CPR and First Aid certifications. I am very patient and I absolutely love my role as a caregiver. I was a caregiver for my grandfather before he passed away to cancer and when he passed away I was going to stop caregiving but I decided to give it another shot. When I gave it another shot I seen how happy I can make the residence and how much better I can make their Day with me being around them and having a really good attitude towards them

My name is Desiree . I believe Caregiving is more then rewarding i feel like it is a achievement everyday. I feel i would be a great caregiver cause I am a excellent problumes solver in every way. Like with: Communication ,transferring ,meals ,Or anything i always say (there is always a way ). I love to make people happy, enjoy there self ,or have a good time and feel good about there self. That being said I did that all day long to my clients .I tried to always find ways to make things better for my clients ,or whats going to make them enjoy there day more. I loved working in a adult foster home got to spend much more one on one time which i feel like they enjoyed more . I like To clean and get things done in a timely manner so im able to do more with my clients . Ive exspirenced alot . Never let anyone feel scared or unsafe ive stayed up all night with many clients checkin vitals all night and just being there for them . In fact i did that with one guy he had alot going on but at this time it was respitory problume after a long night of being there by him checking vitals every 15 min and giving treatments calling on all nurse documenting i ended up sending him in that morning saved his life. My boss thought he was fine told me to go to bed . but i never left his side then i made the decision for him to go in he was in hospital for 2 weeks. I new then and now i truly have a heart and passion for care giving. I always did a 48 hour live in shift which was nice. at the end of my 6 years got hired as manager but we got shut down due to other issues of improper management before i got hired as manager.
