What makes me a great caregiver I've learned to hear & listen as well have compassion. All my teen age life I wanted to care for elderly & children, I started working with individuals with develop disabilities ages range 18yrs - 70yrs, I thought to myself this is great later I came across working with senior citizens my heart, soul and mind was complete I found my goal this has been a passion and hearts desire. what I love most about being a care giver is being there physically, mentally, spiritually to comfort to have an ear and hand to help make another client day better than the day before. My personal achievement I'm proud of knowing that I made another persons day.

My name is Ashley Lindsley and I'm 35yrs old. I live in kirkwood NY. I have been a caregiving for over 10yrs. I took care of my grandmother until she passed. I currently work at Bridgewater nursing home in Binghamton NY. I work on the dementia unit there. I'm very outgoing and love to talk to people. I'm always early or on-time for appointments. I am a great caregiver because I put myself in my patients situation, try my best to make them as comfortable as I can and treat them as if they are family. I became a caregiver because I've always loved helping people, I feel as if my hands were meant to heal. I love being a care giver, the most rewarding thing is to watch the patient leave our facility (recently employed at an LTACH) and return back to there normal lives. I have only been employed as a caregiver by one facility. In my first 90 days I received recognition from management for my superior work with my patients and I received 5 select stars, each one from a certain patient who felt I went above and beyond to make them comfortable. I am a great team player who is hard working and very results oriented when on the job. I am looking to broaden my horizons in the healthcare field and gain as much experience and learn as much as I can along the way.
