Whether I'm caring for a small child in a daycare or helping an elderly person recover from surgery, a sense of personal understanding and connection is vital. I understand the elderly may feel vulnerable, scared, confused and uncomfortable, and being able to identify and allay those fears can create a sense of calm and trust for those that I care for. Patience is also vital to the role of caregiver, I'm able to separate myself from potential anger and resentment and not take the situation personally, all while still providing high-quality care services. I can keep calm and soothe them in their time of distress or anxiety and being a a voice of encouragement. I'm reliable because I know that they depend on us and often feel a sense of personal attachment. I'm continually on time, particularly if administering food or medical care.
The job of a caregiver is challenging yet rewarding. I do this because I am following a dream of helping others. Providing care to people, who cannot look after themselves, while maintaining their dignity, is an accomplishment in itself. I thrive helping people who cannot help themselves.

Utilization of engagement and counseling practices including but not limited to Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed Care, and Multi-Systemic Treatment. I have 30 years of experience in providing personal in-home care for disabled, cognitively impaired, chronically ill, and hospice patients. I assist patients with daily personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. I monitor patients' vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration. I am a thoughtful and considerate person who takes pride in providing the best care possible. I became a caregiver through the influence of my great aunt and grandmother as they were the neighborhood caregivers. I watched them as a child and knew I wanted to do the same thing. I began by taking care of my grandmother when she became home bound in her older age. For the past three years, I was the care taker for my mother after she suffered a stroke. The thing I enjoy the most is feeling a sense of joy and humility in assisting those in need in conducting their activities of daily living. They are so appreciative. I consider it a personal achievement when they recover and there is no further need of my services. That confirms that my work with them has improved their quality of life. I have experience in every area; elderly, infant care, dementia, alzhemiers or just being a companion to the patient. I have worked in nursing homes, hospitals and in home care. I enjoy helping people and nursing is my calling; I have never had a patient that was glad to see me go, but always glad to see me come. I go above and beyond the call of duty. My main concern is that the patient is safe and happy and comfortable. I have taken my clients to the movies, out to dinner, or breakfast or brunch, grocery shopping, out of town to Chicago, Arizona, Pittsburgh, The Hamptons, New York Manhattan. I have taken my client to bingo, museums, to the hairdresser or whatever there heart desired. There's nothing I wouldn't do to keep them happy as long as it is safe and appropriate . I am your nurse that is very energetic and always thinking of how I can make a situation better. I am punctual and enjoy nursing. My last client I was with her for 5 years in Washington DC across from the Watergate/Kennedy Center. I dont have a problem with commuting to any job. I have traveled an hour or more away from home and im always on time. I have very very good references to share with you.
