I was too young to remember the story but my aunt says when I was 4 years old, that I comforted and reassured her when she was crying over a breakup with her boyfriend. I believe this was the beginning of my journey to care for others. I majored in Social Work and have had a wonderful 27 year career of working with children, adolescents and the aging. I have worked at UVA hospital where I gained insight into the importance of maintaining good health and how devastating a disease or accident is on one's health and life. I have worked for department of social services and assisted the aging with receiving the services needed to remain in their home or to move into a facility. At this time, I am doing "hands on" care in people's home to assist them with various activities of daily living. My mother was bedridden for many years and I was one of her primary caregivers. I know the burden on family when caring for a loved one and the importance of support. My grandfather lived to be 96 and I was there for him to assist with shopping, meal prep, housekeeping, medication reminders and transportation. I cherish the times that I spent with my mother and grandfather caring for them. I also cherish the support I received from others.

Hello everyone my name is Teanna Murphy, I have 9 years of expert experience in the medical field. I hold many titles/hats. To go down the list I am a CNA, med aide, aba clinician, companion, direct support professional and professional pizza lover. I have worked in facilities such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, group homes(youth and adults) , jails, asylums etc. You name it I've done it. I became a caregiver because i love people Its very gratifing to me to be there to help someone with thier day to day activites When i became a CNA my job became more grstifing to me. I've been CNA since 1992 I love my job I meet a lot of interesting people

What makes me a great caregiver is I am all about my client. I treat everyone the same and am always punctual. I begin my nursing career in 2007 and have pursued it since then. I love being a companion to clients and interacting with clients.

I am 38yrs old and I have worked in the healthcare industry for 18+ years. I started in assisted living doing aide duties. I then worked my way up to medication technician, then to resident care coordinator. During that time I also went to school and achieved my EMT liscence. After 10yrs at the same facility I chose to resign and Perdue my EMS career. I have always enjoyed taking care of people, it is the most fullfilling and personally rewarding thing to me. I am honest, dependable, trustworthy, and empathetically compassionate.
