I was too young to remember the story but my aunt says when I was 4 years old, that I comforted and reassured her when she was crying over a breakup with her boyfriend. I believe this was the beginning of my journey to care for others. I majored in Social Work and have had a wonderful 27 year career of working with children, adolescents and the aging. I have worked at UVA hospital where I gained insight into the importance of maintaining good health and how devastating a disease or accident is on one's health and life. I have worked for department of social services and assisted the aging with receiving the services needed to remain in their home or to move into a facility. At this time, I am doing "hands on" care in people's home to assist them with various activities of daily living. My mother was bedridden for many years and I was one of her primary caregivers. I know the burden on family when caring for a loved one and the importance of support. My grandfather lived to be 96 and I was there for him to assist with shopping, meal prep, housekeeping, medication reminders and transportation. I cherish the times that I spent with my mother and grandfather caring for them. I also cherish the support I received from others.

I began my journey into the Caregiver when my grandmother got sick and I knew it was my calling. I really enjoy being there for others always. I am very patient and very concerned in the happiness and comfortableness of my clients. I follow instructions well and I do like to do a daily journal of my clients day so the family knows all that has happened throughout my day with their loved one.

I've been a caregiver for 21 years I love my job what attracts me to be a caregiver when I was 15 years old and I had to take care of my grandma the most I enjoy about being a caregiver is being able to help someone seen them smile being the light of their day I just finished my medication classes and I am currently in a GED program and I will be starting nursing school next summer to become a registered nurse

I'm a pca, I love caring for people, I've been driven since I was 7 taking care of my elderly disabled grandmother . I have over 5 years experience, I have experience with everything from Als, alzimers , dementia, daily tasks, daily's care, Boyer life, wheel chair , intellectual disabilities, autism etc. I care for the patient as if they were my own family and I love doing it . I'm proud to say I'm saving someone's life by helping them prolong life experience by providing help on a daily basis to stay active and involved . I'm very driven , hard working and caring

I am very passionate about the work that I do. I believe that each care plan should be individualized; and each person's needs should be evaluated and assessed on a regular basis. I enjoy the creativity that is involved with being a Caregiver, and I equally enjoy the amazing persons with whom I come into contact. In terms of my personal achievements, the one that I am the most proud of is my success and graduation from two Universities. I have a degree in both Nutrition Science and in Nursing. Similarly, I am certified in Basic Life Support, and I have an active license to practice as a Registered Nurse. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening and watching sports. My schedule is very flexible, and I work dutifully to meet the clients needs.

Utilization of engagement and counseling practices including but not limited to Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed Care, and Multi-Systemic Treatment.

I became a caregiver because i love people Its very gratifing to me to be there to help someone with thier day to day activites When i became a CNA my job became more grstifing to me. I've been CNA since 1992 I love my job I meet a lot of interesting people

I became a caregiver 9 yrs, ago. it all began when my aunt was admitted in to a nursing home facility. my grandmother would go visit her on a daily and every day after school I would go with her and every day my aunt would be in the same situation. soiled, left in bed for hours. with bed sores all over her from not being reposition. So from tht day forward I had vow that I would become a nurse or a caregiver. I vowed that I would do my best to make sure tht every patient that I came in contact with will have the best care tht I could provide. it brings me joy that I can help them physical or emotionally. I look at each and everyone of them as my own family. I believe with tht brings out the best in all of us to want to do our best. my best achievement is not of any awards but the reward of being there to my best for my patients to put a smile on there face and for them to feel of importance and to let them knw their voices matters.

I have more than 15 years of clinical experience working with adults. I am a licensed Registered Nurse. I have precepted new graduates, and I have had my certification as a Medical Surgical nurse and in Basic Life Support, and in Acute Care Life Support. I am passionate about caregiving, and I enjoy working with those clients with dementia. I have volunteered with the Alzheimer's Association for the past 5 years. I enjoy helping patients with medication management and skin care. I am able to think critically, and I enjoy working as a member of a cohesive team. I also have experience working with end of life care and palliative care, and I enjoy those disciplines.
