I became a caregiver because I needed a job then I can't stop being one because I loved it, I love helping others and making their life easier. Being a caregiver is one of my passion, I love making difference in peoples lives, I go home happy because I did something for the person in need which made them, smile, comfortable, satisfied and at the end of the day send me home blessed. I'm dependable, compassionate, honest and caring person. What makes me think and believe that I'm a great caregiver is that everyone of my patient called me "my angle" and this is because I treat everyone of them as they were my own, I don't leave anything that can be done today for tomorrow because we may not have tomorrow and I don't want to live with guilty consciousness for the rest of my life, therefore I provide all the assistance the patient needs right then when he/she needs it, not tomorrow. One of the best qualities that I have as a caregiver is a sense of empathy. Whether I'm caring for a small child in a daycare or helping an elderly person recover from surgery, a sense of personal understanding and connection is vital. I understand the elderly may feel vulnerable, scared, confused and uncomfortable, and being able to identify and allay those fears can create a sense of calm and trust for those that I care for. Patience is also vital to the role of caregiver, I'm able to separate myself from potential anger and resentment and not take the situation personally, all while still providing high-quality care services. I can keep calm and soothe them in their time of distress or anxiety and being a a voice of encouragement. I'm reliable because I know that they depend on us and often feel a sense of personal attachment. I'm continually on time, particularly if administering food or medical care.
The job of a caregiver is challenging yet rewarding. I do this because I am following a dream of helping others. Providing care to people, who cannot look after themselves, while maintaining their dignity, is an accomplishment in itself. I thrive helping people who cannot help themselves.
Since my childhood days I wanted to work in job where I would help others. Thus I wanted to enter in the healthcare industry right from early life. When I was young my grandmother became severely ill and she could not care for herself. So, my family contacted a health agency to hire someone to help her. My grandmother's health status has improved considerably after a nurse assistant came and I was very grateful to her. It was at this point that I found joy in helping others. When others fail, I give it 110% and achieve success. When I was doing my training I had formed a bonding with an elderly patient. One morning while caring for her I had a gut feeling that something wasn't right, though her vital signs were perfectly OK. So, I went ahead and talked to my supervisor. When the doctor turned up and checked he found out that lady was ill. My attention to details helped the patient. I am an easy going person who gets along with the people very well. This characteristic of mine has made me team player at all previous jobs. I'm very happy to have an opportunity to apply such skills and an inherent caring attitude. I have served the younger and the elderly, physically and mentally impaired with an immense passion and fulfillment. I seek to enrich the life of your loved one and ensure their well-being on a daily basis. I have experience caring for people with physical/mental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's,etc..
