Hello my name is Tasheka Sherman and I live in Ocala, FL. I have been in the medical care field since 2005. I am CPR and First Aide certified. I am also med tech certified. I have worked at several assisted living facilities and a couple home care agencies. My last employment was at a facility just for Alzheimer's and Dementia patients. I am very family oriented, so your loved one(s) will be treated, cared for and respected as if they were a part of my family. I'm honest, trustworthy and dependable. If you choose me to be the caregiver for your loved one(s) they would be in the best hands possible!
I'm very good at caring for others and have always wanted to be a nurse. The appreciation from clients and the feeling of knowing that you are helping people transition from one situation to the other for me is priceless. My first client was given a couple of weeks to live by her Dr. When I took over her care, she lived three more years. I love what I do because it has taught and helped me to be a better person. I am raising two beautiful children and very proud of what I do everyday.
I enjoy working with older people, because they appreciate the help and companion ship. what attracted me to being a care giver is the fact you can make their life easier for them. Being able to help someone who less fortunate as I and listening to some of the stories they like to tell. When I was caring for a Dr. he never left his chair because he felt safe there, Iwas able to convince him to use his walker, because I was right beside him. One day I visited him he was standing using his walker

I took care of my father for over 10 years until he passed away in 2014 of the age of 100. So I know how hard and sometime difficult for a family to take care of a loved one especially when they have Alzheimer's or Dementia. I worked privately ,for comfort keeper and currently with companion care, inc. I'm a CNA with CPR. Love pets ,so no problem with home with pets.
Caring for seniors is a passion of mine and has been for many years. My biggest achievement is attending nursing school at age 47 after being an executive secretary for years. My philosophy is to treat people as if they were your own family. Even though I am a retired RN, I miss assisting with activities of daily living while keeping a client's independence and dignity in tact. My favorite work was in Home Health for the last 15 years. It is so much better being in a client's home to determine what help is really needed and wanted. I am a happy, caring person and am anxious to help where I am needed.
What makes me a good caregiver is because I have passion for what I do. I enjoy helping the elderly and putting a smile on their faces. It is a rewarding feeling for me. I have about 6 yrs. experience in this field. I take vital signs, bathe, dress, groom, take on errands, light house keeping, and toileting. Thank You.
I love older folks, they have so much wonderful history! I have been a care giver my whole life, PCA, HHA, assisted living facility, Private home care. I Know nothing else I'd rather do. Have worked in the mental health field most of my life. I moved from Minnesota to Florida because my body just doesn't do well in that climate so I semi retired but I just don't like doing nothing so a part-time job would be good for me. I became a caregiver after my grandfather passed away from cancer...the way the ladies took care of him was just so heart warming and inspirational. I love taking care of my residents there all so sweet and makes my heart happy to know they feel safe under my care. I have had complaints from residents when I'm not in there area because they miss me (:
I have 8 years of experience in providing care for the Elderly. I enjoy doing my job because I am able to utilize my knowledge and skills I have gained throughout the years of employment in the Healthcare field, and most of all I enjoy assisting others with their daily duties in order to carry on with their day. My Mom and I became care providers for my grandmother before she passed away in 2008 with Lung Cancer. Providing care for my Grandmother was the hardest thing to do because we knew that her time was coming to an end, but we still gave her our all. I will provide the same exact care your loved one as if he/she is my relative. I believe in giving back because I look at it as if it is me in their shoes, so therefore I give my all and do my best because that is the only right thing to do. Please feel free to ask any and every question you have because I also need the guardian comfortable too.
