I originally started my healthcare career as a First Responder (EMT- Intermediate Grade) with American Heart Association CPR and American Red Cross Advanced First Aid Instructor certificates (though all said certifications are lapsed at this time) before moving on to other career choices. Four years ago, an opportunity for home healthcare assistance became available. I enjoyed that experience and continue to work with patients requiring some additional activities of daily living assistance.

I'm a very outgoing, energetic, athletic, fit person who is very compassionate and caring, someone who puts others before himself, a father of 5, 3 girls and 2 boys. I've been in the field over 10 years and have reliable references to support the fact. I enjoy being able to help others, with everyday tasks, getting back into the community, making home cooked meals, or just being there as someone to talk to. I've worked with seniors, developmentally disabled, dementia patients, and disabled veterans. I'm a well rounded individual with ambition, and experience in all aspects of the healthcare field. An added bonus is that I love to cook as well. My family and I moved from Denver to Florida just to experience life and it's been one of the best life choices I could have ever made. We've been here almost two years now, and look forward to connecting with families and making new friends.

Prior to caregiving, I used to clean homes and businesses. My clients would always tell me there was nobody else that cleaned as detailed as I did. I am familiar with all types of care . My grandfathers had dementia and cancer, my grandmother is a breast cancer survivor and 100. My father had cancer and my mother has high blood pressure. My younger sister has diabetes and is insulin-dependent. I have worked with many different diagnosed conditions and chronic long-term issues. I truly enjoy providing care from cooking meals and doing laundry to making sure my client has a bath. I also will make sure my client gets to nearby appointments and encourage my client to participate in activities in and outside the home. I have two small and a medium size dogs plus a cat so I am animal friendly. I do not smoke and prefer to work with same or an outside smoker. I have worked as a caregiver and CNA as well as management in homecare and been in the industry for better than 10 years .

I became a caregiver around 1979, always felt needed wanting to help the elderly people of all kinds. I enjoy being around people when it comes to helping the sick. I will be their for them if needed. You have to be patient understanding caring know their needs and provide lots of TLC. I took care of a elderly for 14 years, she was in a wheel chair when I met her. also a heavy drinker. Within that 14years of my caring for her I was able to help her family and the client to make a decision for the client to under go knee surgery. She was able to walk for 6 years which was joyful time for her. Few more years after that she was able to give up drinking with a little of my help. I was very happy to see this achievement. The family was proud to see this accomplishment and thank me for my assistance. This made me feel so happy and wonderful that I was able to be their for them. I am a understanding and caring person when I can help someone that needs my services I will be their. I also enjoy traveling being around my grandchildren, love my church, I love to keep up with my landscape, enjoy exercising, and focus on my health.

I became a caregiver because I have experienced family members and close friends that went through difficult and painful illnesses. I saw a need for a person who could advocate as well as be there in a loving, compassionate, and dedicated way. I also had friends who were going through the same experience with their loved ones. I am very thankful for the 13 years experience I have had. In these years I have learned the necessities and responsibilities it takes to be a quality caregiver who is loyal and highly regards the client's integrity, safety, well being, and comfort. I believe in helping a person to remain independent as long as they are capable. I am very knowledgeable in multiple levels of care giving including Alzheimer/ Dementia, Cancer, COPD, Parkinson's, Stroke, Heart Attack. I have a level 2 background check through AHCA. I am drug free and smoke free, good with pets and enjoy cooking.
