I'm friendly and I am often told by my family that I have a gift when it comes to helping the elderly. I have patience for them and love to hear their stories. My name is Alison I worked at Lecom Hospital for a year and a half. I got married and moved to Michigan. I have 4 letters of recommendation. I was tought my patients are number one and there families are number 2. My patients have an attachment to me because I am very kind and I go out of my way to make my patient comfortable. I was trained by the therapist and nurses I work with They were very thorough. I am a fast learner and I love my patients as if they were my family. My mom died of a stroke and on the Theropy floor where I worked I assisted with a lot of stroke patients. I have a connection with the elderly. Even when I was a little girl I had an favor towards them. I love talking to my patients. Listening to them tell there stories. One of my patients tought me how to play chess, while another got me hooked on sudoku. Worked on puzzles and singing songs together. Lots of hugs. I worked 3 to 4 days a week 12 hour shifts. Currently I am a student at Lcc , this is my last year then I will be transferring to MSU. When growing up I would always help my mom with her clients and I started taking interest in the work young. I enjoy helping people out where it's needed , it makes me feel that I am capable or doing anything is If I can make someone else happy. With being a caregiver you have to have patients and that's what make me a great caregiver and also very understanding
