I have a calling & passion for serving those in need; especially the elderly population. My ongoing mission is to help them with continuum of life care; their way, not mine. My name is Kristy. I have over 7 years working with Alzheimer's dementia Parkinson and just providing companionship to clients in their home or living facility. I like to live their live through their journey of life. I like to see that smile on their face when they do something that they think they can't do.I started during caregiving when I had to help take care of my grandfather who had Alzheimer's. To have a career that makes a difference in peoples lives. Meeting and interacting with individuals that you sometimes normally would not get the chance to. While working at a assisted living facility I performed CPR on an elderly woman who was choking during dinner. Afterwards she told me how thankful she was and her family wrote a letter stating how grateful they were. The company also expressed their gratitude for what I'd done. I am an understanding, kind, and fair person who does not mind helping people from different cultures and back rounds .That's just how I was raised.
What makes me a great caregiver is my eagerness to help others restore what they've lost by guiding them and redirecting. I became a caregiver not only because I had an elements in my life where I wasn't able to do for myself but because I no what it's like to not be able to perform certain tasks that i use to do.
