I have worked in the health care field for 24 yrs I really enjoy working with older ppl they can teach us a lot .. my personality is caring and empathy and passion ,I like to treat older ppl with dignity and respect , and one day if I need someone I hope that they will be kind as well. Sitting with someone and listening to their stories adds so much to your day ,I guess the one thing that I have overcome is them dying , I don't like death, but I can at least deal with it now , it was a big fear but working in this field it does come .
I am dependable, flexible, reliable, caring and conscientious. I believe each person should be treated with respect, positive encouragement and patience. Each day should be full of fun and a new adventure in the process of living life from day to day because they were created by God and special. I have a love and compassion for the geriatric population and love seeing a smile develop on each of their faces as we work together to make them feel whole and complete. I would like to apply for a job and be able to help seniors in their home. God has given me a special love for the geriatric population. I have 13 years experience as a Licensed Physical Therapist working with them in the skilled nursing facility and continuing care retirement community. I believe people are most happy in their homes where they are secure with their own surroundings.
I would be a great caregiver because I worked and love my elderly people.. Without them I wouldn't be where I am now. I moved here in NC to help take care of my grandma when I was 12. I've learned lots of things from my grandma..Took care of her til she was 101 years old. My mom and sisters all are in the nursing field and that's what attracted me to being a care giver. The most I enjoy being a caregiver is meeting new people, talking to them and most of all getting to listen to all the stories they lived when they was little. A kind smile or a pat on your back of a job well done.. Not to mention when they ask you Are you coming back ? Is a stamp of approval for me that it was a very good day and a job well done.
Greetings, My name is Olivia and my passion is to create safe spaces where individuals and their loved ones can find comfort, healing, and peaceful rest through care giving and housekeeping. Originally from Vanceboro, NC, I came to Greensboro in 2012 to major in biology. I wanted to find a way to cure the negative emotions that seemed to have become a normal part of our society like loneliness, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and hopelessness. After four long years of interdisciplinary research, domestic and abroad, I still could not find a way to ease the pain of my loved ones or myself. I decided a career change was necessary so I became a CNA and Medication Aide. What I learned during my two years experience in assisted living communities was that the best way to ease the pain of my residents was through acts of love. Also realizing that I had to love myself, I left an abusive relationship and went to my grandmother's to heal. She also suffered from chronic pain and anxiety but was my caregiver for three months. She showed me that the most potent acts of love are simple. A smiling face, a gentle word, a soothing touch, good food, clean hygiene, and a cozy environment eased my pain enough so that I could return to Greensboro and continue my journey rejuvenated. Before departing from home, I asked my grandmother how she could care for me so wholly while battling all of her problems so silently. Her reply was that while she was caring for me, she was soothing herself. "In the instabilities of life, we just need someone to care." My grandmother and I believe that care giving is blissful work and that caregivers have the potential to make anyplace feel a bit more like home. If I could aid you or a loved one in caregiver or housekeeping duties, I look forward to hearing from you. All the best, Olivia the Caregiver
I am a mother of three daughters . I have always been taking care of someone. When I was a teen I babysat and in my late teens I took care of my grandmother who was dying of cancer. I have done fill in work for my aunt who use to work as an in home aid caregiver. I have worked for two years in a chiropractic office working with older people. I enjoy being with people and learning from them and being able to help them to live their lives to the best of their abilities. That is what I love about care giving. It is not just a job but a way of connecting to other people and being able to help them and do it for a living. I am proud of being able to raise my daughters because I have been a single parent for the majority of their lives. I obtained my Associates degree while raising them and I am twenty four hours away from receiving my Bachelors degree in Christian Counseling and Caregiving and my daughters are my reason for continuing to get better as a person.
I am a mother of three productive adult children. Caring for my grandmother prior to her death gave me a whole new perspective about end of life care. And although it was a short time, it made an impact on me. I like to cook and don't mind cleaning or running errands. Sometimes just spending time with someone who is lonely can really make a difference in their life. One of the things I am most proud of is my participation in the making of a documentary that is now registered in the Library of Congress. I was able to interview Bennett College alumni from 1958. They were lovely ladies to work with.

I'm a compassionate caregiver. Very loyal I enjoy caring for my clients. Each client is different, their personalities, their demeanors and their habits. I became a care giver because I am outgoing, very dependable. I am dedicated to their needs. I enjoy people. Kindness and attention is important to care for someone's loved one. Their needs come first. I am prompt and and very honest. I have handled money in the past as well. I like learning about the clients. their ways, their habits, what they enjoy, what they do not enjoy, just getting to know them as well. I think my greatest achievement is getting the clients to trust me in my care and that I'm there to help them in any way.

I am a great caregiver because I take pride in ny work. I treat my clients as if they are my own when providing care and treatment. I chose to become a caregiver because I have a passion and desire to help and give back to others. Some of my personality traits that make me a great worker are having a lot of patience, knowing how to be kind and gentle, and knowing how to enpathize with my clients throughout their disease process. When providing care, I don't look at it as job. I actually enjoy my field of work and aim to better the quality of life. I had a wonderful experience as a child with awesome grandparents. As I got older and became an adult I cared for each of them at some point. I enjoy listening to their life lessons and respect them for their sacrifices. I have alot of experience with Alzheimers and can listen to the same stories & questions over & over. I like being able to make their day, wether it be reading to them or stopping by Krispy Kreme and bringing them their favorite doughnut. My proudest moment was when I was a caregiver for a stubborn, hard to get along with kind of gentleman. One day his daughter asked him why he loved Wendy so much? And he replied, "because she loves me and doesn't have too." I am happily married to my high school sweetheart of 30 years. We have 2 adult children and 1 grandaughter. I was a stay at home / homeschooling mom for 20 years. We are enjoying our empty nest. I am just happy with life.
