I have 8 years of my life to being an aid, I take pride in my job. Asca kid my grandmother was mistreated in a facility from that point on I knew what my purpose is on earth.. I love hearing my clients life story and becoming a part of the family.Im proud at what I do I make a difference in some one's life and knowing that I'm forever greatful to be a nurse.
I put my client's needs at the forefront of my mind. I want them to be as comfortable as possible. I have always been the type of person who put others before myself and once I got into being a Caregiver I knew it was the perfect fit for me. I was able to use my skills to help others have a better outlook on life. I finally found something that gives me fulfillment. I have helped clients with dementia. I have helped a client who had a stroke and was recovering at home. I have held the hand of a man on his deathbed and stayed with him so his family could rest. I have helped another man with depression just by simply cleaning his home and talking with him. He was beaming as he said his house hadn't been that clean since his wife was alive. I have heard so many amazing stories and adventures of people who had been through different periods of this past century and I absolutely love what I do! I have worked for companies in the past but I prefer to work privately now. Some weren't bad but I did not like that they did not want their caregivers to become close with the client and their family. The other downside is when going through a company, the client may get several different caregivers in a week and they do not generally like that. I love being the only caregiver for a client because it builds trust and comfortability and the client doesn't have to explain their routine with someone new every other day.
I an a kind loving person who loves to nurture and take care of people. I have a passion for the elderly and seek to help them in any way that I can. I have been in this type of health care and elderly help for over 12 years. If was caregiving directly or assisting with government assistance. I enjoy to help others and I am very dependable.
I became a care-giver because I feel like I needed to experience taking care of others. I enjoy making my residents smile and lift their spirits. I have worked in long term care for a year and I'm in the process of receiving my medication aide license and I have intentions on becoming a nurse.
I have had the privilege to care for children in the CPS system and it was one of the highlights in my career journey. To be able to care and provide for someone that needs care is a great feeling. I made strong bonds with many children . Now that they are adults and parents themselves they have reached out to me over the years to let me know the positive impact I had in their life. I love helping people when possible. I have a big heart. I'm understanding and strong minded. I have a history of turning frowns upside down with my friendly personality.
I believe what makes me a good caregiver is the fact that I do the job that I do taking care of the elderly because I love it because I have a heart and a passion for it because I love meeting people I listen to their stories of their life. Because a lot of residents that I meet once they're in a nursing home Facility have no family or friends that visit and I look forward to being a companion to those people to brighten your day and to brighten the remainder of their life. Some of the things that make a good caregiver and I believe that I possess are the ability to have understanding and compassion you don't want to sympathize and feel sorry for the people you deal with if you do want to emphasize and I believe that makes you but it's your job because one day and that same chair or bed it could be you or someone you love. So working hard not cutting Corners doing the best job possible is something I take seriously when working with geriatric for elderly residents. I believe you also have to have the ability to not get offended when things are said I've been called every name in the book by every person possible and still treat that same person that may have hurt my feelings as if I love them and care about them I tend to think that not having family around everyday not having anyone visit would drive even the nicest sweetest person to somehow possess a bit of resentment and anger so I don't take it personal by being called bad names that is a person that show a little bit of extra care to take a little bit of more time with. What attracted me to be a caregiver is I come from a long line of nurses and I see and have seen firsthand how quickly they got burnt out and that was just by doing paperwork and sitting behind the desk and maybe interacting with a patient by doing a bad past but I knew that I wanted to get down and dirty in the nursing home facilities.
