Working as a caregiver gives me joy I can't comprehend, it is rewarding and exciting for me. Making a positive impact will always be my goal as a caregiver Am proud of what I do I have some years of experience as a caregiver with some medical background. Am currently in school working on my Bachelors degree online, my experiences as a caregiver comes mainly from working one -on- one and from acute facility. Dementia, Alzheimer's, Adolescents, Geriatrics Strokes patients to mention a few are my of specialization, and I try to enjoy what I do.

Hello my name is Shantel and what makes me a good caregiver is my personality I love helping people who needs assistance with everyday task. I love putting a smile on my client face and keeping them motivated to enjoy there life the best way they can with assistance. Why I became a caregiver is because it was in my heart to do and because it takes patience and understanding in an individual who once did many things in there life before reaching this chapter in there life. What I like about being a caregiver is getting to know about a client life story. I love hearing there many stories because as there caregiver it let's me know who they were before they entered into this chapter of there life. I'm a professional minded individual who is family oriented and I take my job serious I treat people with respect and dignity the same way I want to be treated. I enjoy being a caregiver because I like to make someone smile and doing little things to make a person's day better and I take pride in attention details. I feel that when I'm older I want someone like myself there to help me if I need help. My personal achievement that I take pride in is knowing that I helped someone get through the day.

I Enjoy helping people a whole lot, it gives me comfort knowing that I'm putting a smile on a person face or even making them feel better. I started off in High school being in Health professions classes' and learning different things about health and how precious every ones life are. Helping is what my heart desire's to do, I'm a soft and heart warmth person who enjoy organizing and overall love doing daily tasks.

Compassionate and ready to help others in need makes me a great caregiver. I became a caregiver because of my willingness to help others who are in need especially the elderly and sick. The Joy of seeing others smile again and being there for them, giving them attention are few of what i like about being a caregiver.

I believe in taking proper care of the elderly since my grandmother took the time to raise me this is my way of returning the favor. I've been her right hand woman for many years and my responsibilities evolved from home assistance to recreational activity companion after I got my DL. After my time in the military I decided that I wanted to dedicate myself to helping others get the most out of life and I hope I can help you as well. I became a nurse aid just to try something different. I never dreamed that 20 yrs. later I would still be doing this as well as enjoying it, but I have learned so much along the way and the experience is priceless. In all the years I have pretty much worked in every area of healthcare. I started out in a nursing facility then went to a hospital, then home health, hospice, neuro-recovery facility, mental health, pediatrics, geriatrics, alzheimers/dementia, ALS, TBI pediatrics, etc... I take pride in my work and care about my patients as if they were my own family, all while maintaining respect, privacy, dignity and having empathy for them as well as their families. I try to put myself in the other shoes. I know there's alot of "caring" people out there but I believe the true genuine people are few and very far between.
