I was first interested in helping seniors because my grandmother was blind. I often assisted her with many of her day to day care. I also helped her learn to enjoy pre-recorded books since being blind from birth this opened a new look on her world. I found that I truly enjoyed her company and after graduating from college I began working at a nursing home in SD. I am extremely proud to have initiated the first pet therapy program in a SD nursing home. I worked in independent, assisted living facilities, directed a senior center and raised a family. My husband was a pediatrician for 40+ years so I have had a very good life and still have much to offer.
