Hi! My name is Malawi, I am 20 years old and I have been a certified caregiver for 5 years, I've had 2+ year clients that still reach out to me if they need anything. I am reliable in all aspects, I am respectful, and I love to help and encourage people. I love to laugh, I'm very kind and calm, and organized. I took French for 6 years. I love musical theatre and movies. I was first encouraged to become a caregiver from always loving the feeling of helping my grandparents and being someone they know they can rely on. I became a babysitter when I was 13 and I babysat 3 different families for 2+ years. In March 2016, I became a caregiver for a family friend named Sandra, I stayed with her during chemo therapy appointments, help her heal wounds, exercise, talk and laugh, I recorded her blood sugar daily, e-mailed doctors for her, helped her with mail and any business she needed done such as paying bills, filled her pill box weekly - and I still communicate with her to this day. I love being a caregiver because it reminds me that I am a genuine person and I care about others as much as myself esp. in this career. I love to talk or just simply help. I am always alert and ready to prevent bad situations because I have experience with helping someone with a broken foot and diabetes as well. I am proud of always solving problems for my clients and keeping them comfortable and happy.

What makes me a great caregiver is doing more than looking after my clients and attending to their needs. My nurturing and fostering bond that I share with the clients is what almost makes me a part of the family. I like to provide more than what's required of me because of my passion for caring for those individuals in need. I tend to have an understanding and connection with what my clients goes through on a daily basis. Going through the changes and being able to smile through it all is what I look forward to with each of the clients I serve. Being patient and empathetic gives the clients reassurance on the care they're receiving. Being attentive by responding to any situation in a timely manner. I'm constantly looking for ways to improve how I can make the lives of the clients better and fulfilling. I love what I do!
Being a caregivers is my passion. I've been a caregiver most of my life. I care and love people to be well cared for. Such as hygiene, health, hair care and how my clients might feel about things. Neve wanting them to feel left out or l only at any point! Most of all feeling safe and secure. I won't leave my clients family feeling unsecured I'll be their for you when I'm due to arrive ten minutes early or on time. Just know that you can count on me.
I am a mother of three and my primary job has been a homemaker for 18 years. My oldest headed off to college this year, my daughter to high school and my middle child is in a special needs High School. My son was born with disabilities that include emotional, cognitive and behavioral delays. Being a homemaker has increased my love of caring for others. I find solace in even the most mundane household tasks, especially organizing & cooking. I took the role as caregiver for my grandmother in her last year of life. I felt it was the least I could do to show how grateful I was for the time she gave me in helping raise my sisters and I. My true passion is spending time with others, learning about their interests, how their day is or simply helping to resolve a conflict. My husband and I recently took in our niece to help her return to high school after she dropped out as a result of substance abuse. Caring for her, showing her compassion and the structure she yearned for is helping her navigate into a more confident adult life. I find that as my children have aged I am no longer needed to assist during the days and would like to spend that time caring for others.
