When I was laid off from my banking position I put thought to what to do next banking or something else. I looked to the medical field because I felt it would offer longer term job stability compared other industries. Once I started it was more than that. You get a special warmth and feeling of satisfaction in helping others. Making a difference in someone's life who is experiencing difficulties in functioning everyday. There smile and a well meant thank you goes along ways, I go home feeling I made a difference. My last client had ALS and was on ventilators for assisted breathing. One day had difficulties and I had to ambu bag him in ambulance to emergency room. When patient was finally home he thanked me for saving his life. I can't explain the feeling I had when he said that. Born and raised in Los Angeles, married with 5 children (all of whom are grown youngest is graduating this year. My professional background is banking. We recently moved to the Palmdale area from Castaic. My current company doesn't provide assignments in this area this is why I am applying.
