Michael
My duties included cooking, household cleaning, laundry, giving medication, medication drop off/pick up, wound care, I.V. infusions at home, taking daily vitals, grocery shopping, general shopping. I also made medical appointments assisted my client by bathing and getting him dressed. I took my client to all appointments. Took care of all bill payments, medical paperwork and medical supply orders. I catered to my client's needs also providing emotional support as well to encourage a friendship and positive healing environment. His wound care dr. told me that he didn't believe Michael would ever get better, and that he'd been his dr for the last 2yrs. Michael was down from 150lbs to 94lbs. Within the first 30 days of caring for Michael, he started to gain weight. Within 3mths Michael's bed wounds began to heal. This was the hardest experience of my life & yet the best outcome I've ever been a part of! I care for my clients as if they were my own family. This is what I was meant to do & I love it! :-)

I worked in a great hospital environment doing customer service, meeting leader, a cashier, food service employee, stocker, and was promoted within three months to the café as a barista. The cafeteria numbers of the hospital increased because of my positive presence, leading to my promotion. My job duties were the same. The only changes added were making Starbuck beverages and selling gormet deli sandwiches and wraps. Great fast paced environment.

Although I have always had a natural ability to help others, I became interested in caregiving and the healthcare field after taking care of my uncle who had cancer. I understood the importance in providing quality care for those in need. As a certified CNA, being passionate in what I do, responsible, empathetic, and self-less are the qualities I am proud to carry. An accomplishment I am proud of is going back to school to pursue nursing and maintaining a high GPA.
