I have been a caregiver in the behavioral health, disabilities services, human services, & substance abuse field of work for the past 20 years. I have worked in dual diagnosis addiction treatment centers, women's correctional homes, disabled group homes, individual's homes, nursing homes, & apartments. I have done respite services with youth as well as adults, disabled & seniors. I have done supported community living services, brain injury services, id waiver services, as well as worked with the autistic. I have been a Case Manager with a DHS caseload for child welfare cases and also a Substance Abuse Case Manager & Program Coordinator for a state funded drug & alcohol treatment program. I have also done remedial or behavioral intervention services as they call it now with chronically mentally ill children with severely disruptive behaviors. There really isn't a population in human services I haven't worked with. I really love my work. I'm not in it for the money. No one works this field for the money. You have to have the heart for it! I look forward to working with you & your family!!

It is my belief that all ppl regardless of their need are intitled to the best care possible for a full recovery or in many cases a private transition into their life's end journey...dignity and respect. Being a caregiver is one of life's rewards, those needing care are greatful and I would hope that if I need care someday I would have someone like myself. As far as achievements thus far is helping extended families learn and understand what their loved one may not be able to express to them. Keeping clients on track even if they don't have improvement ...giveing tools to live life out the best way possible with encouragement.
What helps me be the great caregiver would be my personality and my happiness of smiles. What attracted me to become a caregiver was seeing one of my friends mom caring for a senior person at her home and watch her do it,and ask me to help her. "It was amazing". Most thing I enjoy about caregiver would be being around the seniors and enjoy good times/bond. Personal achievement I'm proud of would be,being there for them when they need somebody talk to
I'm very caring and compassionate about the job, and the people I take care of. I love helping people live a desire life, and I'm very down to earth. I love the field and, just helping people, I'm blessed to make a difference in the life someone that can not help themselves, and I'm passionate about that.

I'm great caregiver by doing good job and give my patients or residents the help they want, I love to be around the elders and try to know about why are they having such behavior, I enjoy being a caregiver because I love the elders people, Personal achievement I'm always proud of is when I made them laugh or do whatever they want to do.
Since I was a young girl I've always loved helping others and making a difference in their lives. I started out volunteering at the local nursing home and later on helped take care of my great grand mother with ADL before she passed away a few years ago. I also worked for a family friend from May 2015 to April of 2019 as a caregiver for her mother. I assisted her in ADL's such as showering , dressing , meal times , laundry , cleaning and much more.
Personality traits or expertise; I've got a big heart and I feel that helped me along the way. What attracted me to being a caregiver; I took care of my grandmother when she was in her final stages of life & it was very rewarding. I was also a caregiver for 6 months to a lady whom grew on me like my own grandmother and everyday would push me to go back to school for my certification and has since passed. I enjoy being able to be someone else's companion and giving them the company and support they may not get in everyday life. Life is crazy, but being a caregiver is definitely about the one on one time you get with your resident(s).
i became a registered medical assistant because I wanted to help people and found the medical field very interesting. I have worked with a variety of people from the very young to the very old. I have worked in urgent care clinics, assisted living homes, and Alzheimer's/ Dementia units Since October 2013 I have been a full time live in personal caregiver to my grandmother due to her cancer. I enjoy working as a medical assistant and would like to continue doing so as a personal caregiver. I am very proud of the fact that I have graduated in my field with Honors, a 3.96 GPA, and received 100% attendance awards every semester.

I love being a cna and i cant wait to start nursing school!
I am a very outgoing and loving person. Caring for people comes 2nd nature for me. When my grandmother got ill i moved back to take care of her because she refused to go to a nursing home. That experience really made me want to get into becoming a caregiver. The fulfillment of just knowing i am helping people to be able to stay in their homes is an awesome feeling, and knowing that they are being taking care of by a person who really care and will treat them as her own family. I have 2 sons so bathing or changing another person is no biggie to me. I would be happy to help anyone old or young no matter the circumstances.
