Hello! My name is Jameia Carr. Some personality traits that help me be a great caregiver is I am patience, trustworthy, dependable, and compassionate. When I was in high school I was in the nursing program, I got my CNA through my high school. I've always wanted to be a nurse growing up I just felt that it was right for me. When I first became a caregiver I thought It would be overwhelming, well once I actually started I said I love it just being able to help those who can't help themselves really made me want to continue being a caregiver. A personal achievement I am proud of is getting my CNA in 2015 and still being able to work with it to this day.
I am a compassionate person I believe being oldest of 6 children watching over them and enjoying taking care and helping other is what lead me to going into nursing. I received my cna when I was 16 and have been working in the field since. I have over 15+ years experience. I really enjoy working with the elderly. I prefer 1 on 1 where I can give my undivided attention to the patient. I am currently doing housekeeping for few clients and would love to start giving care again.
I feel that I am a great caregiver because I provide the optimal set of characteristics that encompas a great caregiver. I am compassionate, helpful, trustworthy, responsible, and kind, just to name a few of my qualities that make me a wonderful caregiver. I choose to become a caregiver because I truly care for people and helping people is my passion. I am currently in nursing school which is my dream career and being a caregiver provides me with a stepping stone to my desired career. A few things I like and enjoy about being a caregiver is having the oporitunity to make a difference in a persons life, and having the power to be the person that can make a huge difference in someone's day by just being there and helping out. It is a wonderful feeling at the end of the day knowing that you've helped someone when they needed it the most. Something I am very proud of is my accomplishments that I've made in nursing school. I am 21 years old and I have I one year old son. I currently work in a nursing home and at a childcare facility. I am also enrolled in nursing school at Galen college of Nursing and I have a 3.5 GPA. I love people and helping others, and I can not wait to be able to provide my services to a family or person in need of a caregiver.
I'm a very caring and down to earth person. I do not easily get aggravated and I'm very friendly. I love nursing and it's been my passion since I was 16. I miss the healthcare field, because my residents always gave me something to smile and laugh about. It didn't even feel like a job, because I enjoyed it so much.
My personality is that I am happy person who loves to smile, I'm patient, attentiveness, dependable, love to talk and laugh, dedicated, and trustworthy who has a love for others. I was a caregiver for my grandmother when she first started having signs of dementia due to aging, it was a experience that I would never have regrets of doing. Just in knowing that she was comfortable, loved, and taking care of her meant the world to me, but in the end seeing my grandmother have a child like mind only made me want to do more in helping other families who didn't have the time to care for their loved ones Knowing that at the end of the day I provided my client with the best of care in taking very good care of them My personal achievement that I am proud of is, at the end of the day when a client tells me that they can't wait to see me on the next day. Then I know that I did a job that was well pleasing to them

I have been a Caregiver for 1 year now and I am currently employed at the Masonic Home of Shelbyville. I love being a caregiver and caring for the elderly. I have extensive training in Dementia/ Alzheimer's care. I work on the dementia unit at the nursing home and I have attended Hand-in-Hand Training for dementia. I have learned different ways to help these patients with daily tasks, as well as when they agitated and upset. I have worked the Silver Angels Program at The Masonic Home, which is a dinner-time group with dementia patients to help them with sundowning and agitation before dinner until bedtime. The majority of our patients need intermediate to complete care. My favorite part about being a caregiver is getting to build relationships with the elderly and their families, as well as learning about their lives.
