I am 19 years old and I've been a CNA since my junior year in high school. I was in the foster care system for most of my life and I've used my CNA license for every job I've ever had since I got it. So I have quite a bit of expirence. I've taken care of my grandmother for several years even as a child. I'm most certain she's the reason that I wanted to work in health care.

My greatest accomplishment was working with a hospice lady knowing everyday she had someone there for her.i believe I'm caring, patient, and I like doing things for them and with them.

I am a current college student, who has grown up with a cousin who has Down Syndrome. Through that experience and constant learning about what DS is like, I have found the disability community a rather homey place. I like trying new things, and new adventures, and care-giving seems like such a great opportunity to learn a new aspect of life. I am positive, caring, and never give up. I spent the summer of 2016 in a remote town of Harmons, Jamaica. While living there for 3 months, we would travel to the nearby infirmary. At the infirmary I built upon relationships I had made the previous summer. My weekly time at the infirmary is truly indescribable, seeing the pain and anguish these sweet people are living in, yet they are the most joyful, will forever give me hope and light a fire in me to live my best life. I am so proud of my friends in the infirmary, I'm proud of my cousin, and I am proud of my sweet friend who also has DS. I love to love on the broken, or the weary. I just truly have a heart for the ones who are often over looked in any sense, and even the ones who need a little extra love in the rough seasons of life. I'm easy to connect with, and truly excited to see where CareLinx leads me.
I've worked at lots of nursing homes throughout the last 3 years and I've learned a lot. I love this field of work and helping people in general. I am 19 years old and suffer from lupus so I have a great understanding of what's it's like to live with most of the symptoms your loved ones have.
I genuinely care about people particularly the elderly. I believe my greatest accomplishment was in Sarasota Florida taking care of an 73 yrs old woman who had a stroke when she was only 43 yrs old. I was with her for seven years. We were great friends and even though she couldn't speak but a handful of words we communicated very well.
I am a very outgoing, kind and loving person who loves to help others. I believe that to be a great caregiver you have to be compassionate about the work that you are doing, which is why I was attracted to being a caregiver. I enjoy being able to create a relationship with the person I am caring for. I believe that each relationship you create helps you care for someone on more of a personal level. I look forward to hearing from you!
