I love being a caregiver because it gives that time to make them smile. I have a passion for caring for geriatric patients. I've been doing this for almost 9 years and I have loved it every since. You have to have patience and remember they are special people. I have had several residents call me names and at first it hurt my feelings but then I was sat down and explained the generation I'm taking care of isn't use to me being all smiley and friendly. I then started looking at them as children because demintia is basically taking them back into a child like setting and I love kids!!
