My first personality trait is that I am a great communicator and listener which the client needs so that their needs can be met. Just knowing that the elderly are depending on you and your care maybe they just need a companion someone to just talk to. Being around elderly clients helps me understand what kind of care the individual need I get the chance to learn more everyday. I just enrolled in a CNA program that is something i have been wanting to do for some time now.
--I became a care giver, because I wanted to make a difference in the lives of others. --I saw a person get mistreated, and I felt that with the love and compassion I have for people, I feels that if one person cared for another with love and compassion, I could make a difference in that individual life. I love helping people live and reach their full potential in life. I just love helping people and watching them perform at their highest form of life.. I'm a loving , caring, compassionate and a motivator; I am not an enabler, but I strives to guide individuals to function at their highest level of life. eventually one day opening an adult daycare center.
Patience. Those who provide home care to others need to be patient. Compassion. When someone has compassion for another they have an understanding of what the person is going through. Compassion leads to trust. Attentiveness. Always there at work on time. Dependability. Clients depend on us and when we don't follow through that might lead to a mental break down. Trustworthiness.
I love being a caregiver, my bubbly personality allows me to be a great caregiver. I enjoy making my resident happy, I enjoy making their day better and seeing them smile or laugh. To be a caregiver to me is truly connecting with your resident and getting to know them and figure out what they like and be there companion while you help them with daily needs. I have a lot of personal achievements like graduating from high school early, then going striaght to college, getting my CPR, and CNA certification, also becoming a Nail Technician.

I am most proud of all the people I have been able to help and support being a caregiver, but mostly being able to take care of my grandfather while he was on respite. I was so happy being able to be his caregiver which kept him in his home the entire time. My clients are my family and heart not just someone i am paid to care for. I have took care Other people family members and also my own. I know the struggle of having family members that assistance with everyday help and your not able to assist , you want someone taht you can trust and know that your family will get the love and support from the caregiver that you would give. I became a caregiver because since i was a little girl i have always wanted to be in healthcare field, but when i had to care for my grandmother and daughters grandmother that both had cancer it really pushed my passion out of me even more. I wanted people around my family with love and joy and to make last days, months, or years great for my loved one. being apart of bring joy to families and my clients brings joy to me. my personal gain from being a caregiver or achievements would be just making my client comfortable, seeing them smile and enjoy life no matter whats going on. bring joy to my client and helping them do things others thought they couldnt is the greatest achievement in my caregiving world.
I am a very outgoing and caring person. I enjoy helping others and making others smile by spreading positivity. I find the good in things that others may not. My mother was a caregiver for as long as i can remember as a child. She is the reason i chose to make a career in patient care. I am proud of achieving my associates and now completing my bachelors, and then on to my masters. I plan on caring for others in need as long as there is someone who needs care.
I always enjoyed helping others as a young child. I would look at televised telethons and donate my weekly allowance. It was only $1 way back then, but was big money to me. I am a compassionate, caring, patient, hard working and very loyal worker. I truly have the love for working in this field. I have 21 years of experience working with individuals who have autism, developmental disability, mental/behaviors, hospice, and cared for my dad whom had Dementia.
I have been assisting with adults with developmental disabilities for almost nine years. It started with my mom who finished her bachelors degree as a social worker while I was a toddler, as well as my grandma was a physical therapist technician. Being able to help people of all walks of life has always been a passion of mine.
