About Emily

Wife. Mother. Nurturing. Spiritual woman. Very upbeat and loving and warm spirited. I ended up being a caregiver by accident but it was meant to be. I have always been drawn to doing something helpful. Hospice is my sweet spot and I really enjoy it but I just want to make a difference and help your loved ones understand that I'm here to assist with their needs, to laugh with, to enjoy their company, to know that it's okay to be scared.

For the past decade, I have assisted aging, ill, and terminal friends and family in all aspects of their daily living to improve their quality of life in any reasonable manner possible. Although my certification expired, I have previously been certified in CPR and will re-certify ASAP. I am quite familiar with medication regimes and am experienced in IM injections, such as those required for a diabetic client, but I am not certified for Intravenous Injection. I have inserviced and provided/administered many forms of occupational and physical therapies for clients and am accomplished in therapeutic massage and pedicures. I provide reading services, am an accomplished Scrabble player, enjoy card games, such as Rummy (but no Poker or Bridge...), and play other board games and enjoy jigsaw puzzles, also. While my Bachelor of Arts is in English, with a minor in Speech Communications, much of my professional work has involved in crisis management and governmental processes so I am very familiar with "Red Tape" and dealing with the requirements of documentation for personal/ medical / and social programs. I am also an accomplished cook and homemaker and if I don't know the recipe or the process, I will locate or take direction for the best possible results in the kitchen, bath, and home. Finally, I am an intelligent, caring woman, raised on a farm in South Louisiana, educated and well-read, have a good and practical sense of humor and a well developed caring mentality, steeped in patience and compassion.

I AM CURRENTLY NOT ABLE TO WORK, I AM HOMESCHOOLING MY KIDS. I HOPE TO BE BACK TO WORK ONE DAY, BUT RIGHT NOW KEEPING MY LITTLE ONES SAFE IS MY MAIN JOB RIGHT NOW. Hello I am a wife to a Veteran, and a mother to 4 children and 1 fur baby. I started caring for my Grandfather several years ago, up until his recent passing. To list a few things I did so you can get an idea. Bed Bathing, Grooming, Denture Care, Hearing Aid, Emptying Catherter & measuring urine, Blood pressure with machine and kept track, Stayed the night with him in hospital and cared for him there as well and called nurse when needed, flipped with help every 2hrs to prevent bed sores, used mouth suction, and more. I decided when he passed that I wanted to care for others the way I cared for him, and that is what lead me to be a Caregiver. I am not a CNA but would love to become one. I have been a stay at home mom for the most part of 12 years and cared for my children while my husband served in the Navy. I worked here and there when I could. Now that my children will be in school this year I am able to work. If you think I would be a great fit please feel free to contact me and we can talk futher. Hope you have a blessed day !!!!
