I started out working as a Non-Certified Nursing Assistant for 1 year. After doing so, I decided to get certified as an Nursing Assistant through the Nursing home that I was currently working at. I worked for the Nursing Home facilities for a total of 7 years. I then left the Nursing home facility to work inside the Hospitals. There is where I stayed working at for 25 years. Over the course of my 25 years working in the Hospital, I was able to experience taking care of all age groups of people. My greatest joy of working in the medical field, is whenever I helped in caring for the Elderly population.
I am compassionate, caring, loving and dependable. The client's need and safety is always first. I became a caregiver, because I have a passion to help people, especially the elderly. Knowing that i've added some comfort to their lives makes me glad I became a caregiver. I enjoy being around the elderly, because their lives blesses my life. Receiving a Caregiver of the Year award made me feel good inside, not because I received the award, but because that told me I was making a different.
